I first saw this news on my FB feed when I woke up and had to cross-reference. Everyone is reporting this. This could not have come at a worse time in my opinion.

His entire family typically refuses to wear masks. I just hope that he and his wife don't pass it to their young son. Can you imagine how awful that would be? I take it you're a Trump fan? I don't think his illness will make a difference. You guys seem incredibly divided (we Brits are too) and opinions are unlikely to change. Trump refused to say anything bad about white supremacy and that didn't sway conservatives. I think he's right that he could shoot someone in public and get away with it - or whatever it was he said along those lines.

This could not have come at a worse time in my opinion.

You can't possibly think it matters, surely. You could have a elephant run against Biden and Republicans would vote for the elephant. You could have a donkey run against Trump and the Democrats would vote for the donkey. It's been proven time and time again that there aren't enough swing voters to ever make a difference because few people actually change their minds. And the electoral college has been gerrymandered to help the Republicans anyway, hence no popular vote despite present day technology that would make it easy, so I wouldn't clutch my pearls over Trump and co having the virus. I'm trying to do better about not seeing gloom and doom in everything, so I hope that helped.

 

I avoid the news because it's so depressing and I've been working towards finding the positive in things. I hate for anyone to deal with the virus, but I've noticed that it's done some good here. I live in the conservative South and the for the first time people are masking up and not standing so close when out and about. Maybe that will help make a difference with ending the pandemic.

I'm no fan of Trump, but I've also never been fond of Boris Johnson or Prince Charles, yet I was still upset when they were hospitalized with COVID-19. It made the threat feel more real somehow. Boris Johnson acted much like Trump and downplayed the seriousness of the virus early on, so I was afraid that he wouldn't seek real medical care, but he did. I'm sure Trump isn't actually trying all those quack science remedies that the touted either. He had claimed to be taking hydroxychloroquine daily in order to ward of the virus, but I'm sure that's stopped. Things change when the person becomes ill. I wouldn't worry about it too much because real doctors will see to him.

Real doctors can see him and treat the virus as best they can, but the man is 74 and overweight. You can't treat something like that overnight, and something like that will feed the virus more than anyone can treat it. I wish him the best.

Boris Johnson is overweight too. Prince Charles is skinny, but he's also in his 70s. I think they both smoke some too. So, I wouldn't worry too much. I'll admit though that I've never been worried about the coronavirus as you can probably tell from my previous posts. Trump catching the virus hasn't changed how I feel about it. I wear a mask and practice social distancing because that's what I'm asked to do to be a good citizen and I have empathy and compassion for everyone around me. So I'm happy to play my part, but I'm not exactly worried about the virus. What does concern me is that Trump claimed he was vaccinated. If he was telling the truth, does that mean that the vaccine doesn't work? That's not good.
