Guys, I am so disappointed! I was eagerly awaiting my chance to see Proximity, the new movie about extraterrestrial abduction. I have just checked out some reviews and they are really bad! They mostly say the second half of the movie loses direction completely. Do you take any notice of reviews?

No, not really. Reviews may be professional opinions crafted through a set of criteria set down by which to rate a movie, but at the end of the day it's still an opinion.

Nope! If something looks good to me, I watch it. I don't pay attention to reviews. What someone else doesn't like doesn't mean I won't like it. Watch it and tell us what you think.

It depends on what the critics are saying really. Some critics are awful and will pick apart a film just for the sake of it which is usually obvious. Others are more objective and will mention something specific that I wouldn't like either. I usually ignore the former and listen to the latter. Have any of your mates seen the film? Well, I would still urge you to watch the movie because it is the only way to tell if it loses direction. It becomes necessary to read the reviews, though some of them are usually misguided. On the flip side, several movies get good ratings, yet they end up disappointing some fans.

If I have decided to watch a movie, other people's ratings won't stop me. How can we even ascertain that these comments are legit? With lots of bots crawling the internet, anything is possible!
