I found an interesting Australian interview with the 2 remaining members of The Monkees.

 

 

They're still out there pleasing their fans, and there was some information in there I found rather interesting.

His mother invented a white out product? That's pretty cool. I was never really of fan of theirs, but after all these years it's nice to see some of the old acts still going.

I do agree that it's great that a lot of older bands are still out there doing their thing.

Try watching "Head" starring the Monkees, from back in 1968. One of the most far-out films you can see. Another interesting fact - it was written and directed by Jack Nicholson.

Jack Nicholson? You've got my attention. Sounds like a bizarre pairing that's worth checking out, for sure.

 

Didn't they go through an LSD/Hippy phase for a bit?

Yes, @Classified, this was their hippy phase, but I think they were just following the style the Beatles went through, for example the use of the sitar. I cannot imagine Davey Jones using drugs. Allegedly, though, Nicholson did when working on this.
