Hey all, did you guys know that there is going to be a remake of Dune, with the trailers due to come out this month?

I thought the release date was for December, but I just read it might be pulled until 2021.

I'm just praying the cinemas are able to get back to normal sooner rather than later.

Is Hollywood out of original ideas? Has every possible story there is, been told already?

 

I think the original was good enough that left me with no desire to watch a new version.

 

I don't need 2 Dunes.

@17 Below Zero, considering that Disney remade the majority of their biggest hits for that sweet box office money, I'd say yes, Hollywood is out of ideas. Or they're just lazy.

 

@Hendo, I'm looking forward to seeing the movie, but who knows when it will come out. I just hope we don't lose all of our movie theaters in the meantime.

It's supposed to be in post-production. I wasn't fond of the original, but I reckon the remake might turn out better. I like Rebecca Ferguson and think she's quite talented, but I'll probably wait until it hits Netflix or some other streaming service before watching.

I thought that the original Dune was over-long, in my honest opinion. I remember getting very restless in the cinema. I only went because two of my mates were interested in going, and we were only 14. Maybe I will be mature enough to appreciate this version.
