Regarding theatrical revenues only, Avengers: Endgame had a worldwide box-office gross of over $2.797 billion, hence becoming the highest-grossing film of all time. I think that the consistency of cast endeared moviegoers to the original Avengers film and the sequels. Avengers: Infinity War was not so far off, with a revenue of $2.05 billion in 2018.

With a population that never gets smaller, grossing records will be broken all the time.

 

It's cool that Avengers did that, but I'm not really surprised.
