Your avatar is amusing. I always figured that the heel of her glass slipper got caught on something while she was dashing off. And animation back then relied on pure artistry and drawing things out by hand instead of the computer animation we have today. So it makes sense that the hole/crack in the ground wasn't detailed enough. Yes, I've thought about this too much. What can I say mate, I'm bored at work and appreciate the entertainment.

Hi! I'm happy to help you cure the boredom a little. I'll just think that she got cold feet (literally) and that made it easy for the slipper to fall. Or she gained weight a little after the party. Have you heard about the other versions of the story where her stepsisters cut their feet to match the size? I didn't think these childhood stories could become horror until I heard of that one.
