Up to 60 people taken hostage, an explosion outside of a football stadium, the President whisked off by security and people being shot in the streets.

Jeez.

EDIT - From Wiki (which has a page up already)

Individual attacks

There have been at least two shootings and three explosions. Shootings were reported around the Rue de la Fontaine-au-Roi, Rue de Charonne, and Rue Bataclan. The attackers reportedly shouted Allahu Akbar.

Petit Cambodge and Le Carillon shooting

A shooting at the Petit Cambodge ("Little Cambodia") restaurant in the 10th arrondissement of Paris killed four people. The assailants also shot people outside a bar called Le Carillon near the Canal Saint-Martin. According to the Associated Press who quoted a police official, 11 people were killed at the restaurant.

Bataclan theatre shooting and hostage-taking

A second shooting occurred at the Bataclan theatre in the 11th arrondissement of Paris where the American rock band Eagles of Death Metal were playing. According to the Associated Press, up to 35 people were killed, and approximately 100 hostages have been taken. Someone who escaped the attack told a journalist that the attackers mentioned Syria and that there were five or six attackers.

Stade de France explosion

At least 10 people were injured or killed in an explosion at a bar near the Stade de France in the suburb of Saint-Denis. The President of France, François Hollande was at the Stade de France, attending an international friendly football match between France and Germany. Hollande was safely evacuated from the scene and met with the French interior minister Bernard Cazeneuve to coordinate a response to the situation.

Looks like 2 of the explosions were suicide bombings

Fucking human race. Great in parts but completely digusting in others. It's a complete mess right now it's gonna take a mass extinction event to unite everyone. I won't be surprised if troops get send in if this is IS related.

Stay strong Paris.

seeing reports of 120 dead and man more injured. This could have wide sweeping conciquences for the rest of europe and the flow of people around the world. Some are saing this is in response to the death of Jihadi John but its too fast on the heels. This was planned for when there were numerous things going on within Paris.

Thinking of all those affected by this terrible incident.

One of the suicide bombers has been confirmed as having come through Greece among refugees who had been fleeing Syria.

The Greek authorities stated that a passport found near the bomber's body was used when 69 refugees went through one of their islands.

This revelation is going to have long-reaching consequences and all of those who were saying the people who aired this as a concern were racist are going to have to review their stance.

They are going to have to shut the borders now, I can't see how else they can manage this.

You don't have to review the stance in reality. The terrorist wasn't a refugee, that they used the cover of being a refugee to carry out terror acts does not mean someone stating "Refugees are terrorists" is not totally mistaken and probably a bit racist.

One of the terrorists is a confirmed French national. French people are terrorist. close Dover.

It's not saying refugees are terrorists, it's the shooting down of those who said the terrorists would masquerade as refugees to cross borders.

Of course there are genuine refugees (and non-terrorist migrants who are not seeking a safe haven), but the threat of IS operatives pretending to be just that has shown to be true.

As unjust as it is, it now casts a shadow of doubt over all migrants / refugees.

Yeah I agree, I mean its not like history has shown that its a load of bollocks at all. Bin Laden was killed and so no more Islamic terrorists have bothered the world since.

They commit atrocities so the West responds with force. They take those actions and show the death of innocents at our hands and use it to prove its a 'war against Islam'. Muslims in the west are stigmatised. They get more followers willing to commit atrocities. We need to get more action from middle eastern countries while we ensure we fight the propaganda war smarter and educate our citizens more on not being racist dicks.

Exactly that.

We blunder into the Muslim world, picking on stuff we don't like because NATO knows best and then we act hurt and offended when those groups react and then promptly pour more high explosive onto them making more martyrs and reasons for radicalisation to occur.

Lets all ignore the fact that despite the fact that the Britain is currently having jets operating in Syria outside of the agreed mandate and the fact that despite the fact that the Western coalition is supposed to be stopping ISIS is actually also trying to affect a regime change - but when Russia does the same thing in support of the current regime we lose our marbles and call them the bad guy.

We got out of the Middle East finally and then we've dove back in - first in Libya and now in Iraq and Syria. Why? We are bankrupt nearly as a nation - health services are being cut, the sick and disabled are having their money cut but we are spending millions on a course of action that will cause nothing for us but pain.

When are we going to learn that aid is not a LGB or a Drone Strike - if we actually went in their to help displaced people and provided refugee camps near their homes with food, running water a purpose then maybe we would win their hearts and minds, slow down the migrant problem and change perceptions of us in the Arab world.

If we're talking atrocities and killing innocents, one side has much, much more blood on it's hands than the other, and it's not the side we like to think it is.

Depending on who you ask, our total is between 100000 and 1 million innocents as "collateral damage" in our war on terror .... and we wonder why they hate us. The wonder is more of them don't.

That's why mankind is flawed...

But it's time to send the troops in. I couldn't care less who funded or started IS but if they're raping and marrying kids as going as 9 and treating women as slaves and destroying artifacts for profit and oil they will become larger and confident to attack more.

Enough is simply enough

I am not having a dig at anyone (thats never a good way to start a post) but the reaction of 'boots on the ground' 'enough is enough' is pointless. We dont know the facts. We, as the general public, will never know the facts. The reasons why we invade countries have nothing to do with over throwing dictators or removing oppression. If it was then we would of gone into North Korea by now. The reason we focus on the middle east is because the companies who actually run the world want their resources. The affect it has on not just us as the general public in the west but also the general public in the middle east is disgracful. It wasnt that long ago we were helping the syrian rebels overthrow their leaders. Off the back of it we have had the rise of IS and other extremist groups vying for position of power. These people hate the west not just for religious reasons but also because the west have a bigger platform on the world stage and make decisions which affect them without their input.

What the extremist groups do in the name of a peaceful religion is abhorant. It should not be tolerated. It will be in the long run because the people that make the decisions dont actually care. All they care about is making money. Anyone who thinks that the goverments care about the people are wrong. They dont. They only care about themselves and protecting them and who pay for their lifestyle.

Everything I have said above is my opinion. You can agree or disagree that is your perogative. I have not said anything with the intention of offending anyone.

There's no harm in mentioning my user name!

Completely agree with governments and that has set a trend about them to us. but with all the reports (by that I mean neutral independent ones) of is fighters forcing kids as young as 9 to be married off and raped and women being treated as slaves and forced to wear clothing along with trying to cleanse minority groups over there. These guys do need a wake up call. These are blood thirsty scum and the general non governmental influenced median reports I've seen back it up

But some of the racism I've seen on social media and suggestions to stop have been down right racist. Jesus christ no wonder they hate us.
