That's sad news. I haven't been listening to much about wrestling in the past few months but coincidentally, I watched a few YouTube videos last night from Piper's podcast. He came across well and had lots of stories to tell. It's a shame to see another wrestler die too young.

There just seems to be no end to the sadness associated with being a wrestling fan. Whether you're still a fan or you used to be one seeing these people pass away and pass away so young and so unexpectedly causes us a great deal of distress and heartache, the only positive you can take from this kind of thing is how our minds go straight to the good times and we can remember the times we laughed or cheered when these men and women went out there and did all they could to make us happy and entertained.

RIP Hot Rod one of the many and one of the greats

I never imagined that when I grew up, half of the guys who were my heroes as a kid in the WWF would be dead before I got out of my 30's. I guess we all assume these guys would all be retired and just into their 50's or early 60's with some money put aside living a nice, stable life in retirement, enjoying the fruits of their labour. Instead they're mostly either dead, broke, junkies, mental f*ck ups or still hanging on for pennies.

Its pretty pathetic.

even guys not even from the 80s and 90s are pretty much f*cked up like edge, the hardys, rey and daniel bryan.

Didn't he have a beef with Steve Austin a couple of weeks back, claiming Austin got him fired from his Podcast.

yeah, something to do with piper saying austin got over with catchphrases. then i read that pipers legends contract was suspended.

Edge had a career-ending neck injury (at only 37yrs old), but relatively speaking, he's clean, has his health, made his money, is living with Beth Phoenix (and has a child with her) and has a nice little TV acting career on the go.

Plus, any time he comes back for guest spots, he's always looks like he's having a blast, while concurrently, any time he has a non-wrestling-show appearance, he comes across as completely happy with retirement, especially as he did it all while in WWE.

US Champ

Tag-Team Champ

IC Champ

World Champ

WWE Champ

King of the Ring winner

Royal Rumble winner

Money in the Bank winner

Main-evented WrestleMania

Fought in a Streak Match at WrestleMania

Slammy winner :lol

Hall of Fame inductee

Triple Crown / Grand Slam champion

Teamed with his boyhood hero

Won the tag-titles with his boyhood hero

If anyone deserves to be excluded from the "bunch of fuck-ups" group, it's definitely Edge.

But he's not fucked up because of his injuries. He had to retire, sure, but he is as far from "fucked up" as you can get.

In the context being discussed, fucked-up means being broke, addicted to drugs / alcohol and / or so broken down physically / mentally that they are barely functioning.
