Guest John Hancock
Yeah, I can't see anything other than Money on points, and then they just put the concept of professional boxing in a coffin and carry it down the Strip one last time as people weep and : handkerchiefs. Obviously this is going to be massive, probably the biggest pay-per-view ever, but I have no idea what they're going to do for the next ten years now, this just feels like a bit of a "Well... now what?", because, compared to the atmosphere a few years ago, this really doesn't feel as important as it could have been, especially with one of the big topics being whether Manny really has anything left. I know it's probably just because UFC's made a massive comeback this year, combined with the fact that expecting the biggest ever from day one probably isn't the best way to protect yourself from disappointment and burn out, but I have to say, I was way, way more hyped up about the Alvarez/Mayweather fight than I am about this. It all just seems a little bit like a formality now. (So apparently you can't type the word w-a-v-e anymore?)
Evil Gringo 279
Yeah, if they had done this in 2010 or 2011 after both had finished using Ricky Hatton as speed bags it would have been much more huge in terms of atmosphere and quite frankly PPV revenue in my opinion. Truth is what is next for boxing after this in terms of a must see big fight? With all the young talent from seemingly every art of fighting being drawn into MMA can the sport continue to produce new stars at all? Guest bigmatt
Poll added, make your prediction! @Kam Would it be possible to add a boxing category to Sportsbook? We could put up the odd big fight?
Kam 243
@bigmatt - I've added boxing and MMA as new categories. I've also set them along with the Football category to automatically create a post in the relevant forum when a new betting event is created. Not sure what the post will look like yet... Guest Kontrolled
The only thing Flyod loves more than #1 himself, #2 beating up women, is gambling.... Floyd throws the fight 9th round KO and banks his purse plus his winnings!!!! Floyd Mayweather the only guy who says... "yeah we can do an all "inclusive" interveiw as long as we only talk about what I want to." I love boxing but this fight is far past it's prime.... I know it's 15 pounds up but they could do a catch-weight tell Floyd to get in the ring with Triple G!!!! and I would gladly pay $100 to see Floyd step into the octagon with Rousey.... go ahead Floyd hit her!!!! doesn't matter come saturday I'll be watching Edited May 1, 2015 by bigmatt

Guest The Beltster
Floyd will beat Manny by boring him to death over the course of 12 rounds as he does to all his opponents. I've no idea how he's become such a big draw when everybody knows his fights are always going to be 12 round bore-fests.
Guest Jack
I think the fight promises more on paper because Pacquiao is a southpaw which doesn't suit Mayweather's preferred defence and he gets dragged into good fights because he doesn't have the same control. Instead of fighting out of the shell, looking for counter right hands, bringing the opponent onto the left hook etc., Mayweather stands a lot squarer and that doesn't suit his defence, which is the greatest attribute he's got. Zab Judah gave him real problems because of the southpaw stance and since that fight, the only two southpaws Mayweather has faced, Guerrero and Ortiz, have both had success. Neither of those are genuinely world level fighters either, so the stance, footspeed and handspeed that Pacquiao possesses makes this an interesting bout stylistically. People will argue that Pacquiao has problems with counter punchers, an argument which is built almost entirely on the Marquez/Pacquiao series, but Marquez is a very attack minded counter puncher who will force mistakes and then punish them whereas Mayweather is more defensive minded so I'm not sure that's a great example. I think it's a very intriguing fight. I'm surprised at how big it is too because i expected the interest to have waned a lot more than it has done, due to the nonsense in negotiations. It's a huge, huge event, by far the biggest that has happened in my time watching boxing and you'd probably have to go back to the 80s for something which matches this in America, never mind globally. Guest Kontrolled
I see the piece of s*** is up to it again... Floyd had 2 female reporters who have confronted him about being a piece of s*** kept out of the fight!! "yeah I beat women, who are YOU to ask me that?" Guest bigmatt
If you haven't made your prediction, get it in on the poll at the top of the page and don't forget Sportsbook is open until the fight starts. Guest John Hancock
The only thing Flyod loves more than #1 himself, #2 beating up women, is gambling.... Floyd throws the fight 9th round KO and banks his purse plus his winnings!!!! If there's a fix on, it'll be a draw, but that's the most that'll have, more likely a majority decision instead of a unanimous. Any even insinuation that Mayweather takes a dive with a fight left on his contract is just nonsense.
Guest Kontrolled
nonsense... because he has a fight left on his contract? maybe nonsense just because he loves himself way to much to throw a fight, maybe nonsense because he has high morals and loves his sport... a 1000 reasons why him taking a dive is nonsense... except for the fact that he has a fight left on his contract. If you are going to take a dive you do it with a paycheck still in front of you. with-out a fight left than there is a chance, although slim, that nobody wants to put your comeback, against a boxer that he would clearly be better than, on a ppv and you than lose $$$$$$
Guest John Hancock
If there's a thousand reasons why him taking a dive is nonsense, why bring it up?
Guest Kontrolled
enjoy the conspiracy!! Thinking out of the box trying to start a conversation..... everyone knows with how defensive Mayweather fights that this probably goes the full 12 rounds.... on top of that is probably a boring fight
Guest John Hancock
I'm all for a conspiracy, but, if it happens, I just think a dive is way over the top. There's been corruption in Mayweather fights before, but it's always been little things like turning a unanimous decision into a majority decision by having one of the judge's claim it's a draw while the other two score it fairly. Now that I can totally see happening, even if it's just the casinos putting pressure on them, because I'd imagine a unanimous decision victory for Mayweather is so obvious that it'll bankrupt Vegas. Guest Jack
Lomachenko is an outstanding fighter. In terms of technical ability, there are a handful of fighters in the last 20 years who match up to the skills he's got, he's a phenomenal boxer. Nice to see him get a chance on such a high profile card.

Guest Jack
Apparently the number of PPV orders is causing problems, so the fight is being pushed back for a while. It was set to start at 4:30 but I think it'd be lucky before 5am..
