DC 536
[video=youtube;6oj-WD5VfMk] This is Josh Neer (5'11" - 170lbs) wailing away on an internet troll by the name of Patrick Martin (6'6" - 270lbs) who was talking shit to him over social media, as well as trolling others about how shit at fighting various MMA guys were and how he could beat them. Neer said he had had enough, decided to call Martin out on his claims and the above video is the result of that. Guest The Beltster
I'm all for somebody sorting somebody out who talks shit about them but the last few of those elbows and especially that football punt to the head at the end seemed extremely unnecessary. I wouldn't be shocked if this video lands him in a world of shit. EDIT: Why does he have small MMA gloves on while the other bloke has boxing gloves on? Thats ludicrous. etz 78
Neer shoulda submitted him, way less likely to land Neer in shit, plus it's way more degrading to tap like a 6'6" bitch than it is getting wailed on. Also, a professional should behave like one, and not a school yard bully. Edited February 25, 2015 by etz
Guest bigmatt
Tyson Fury vs. Christian Hammer later on tonight. I think at around the 10:00pm mark, UK time. Fury weighed in at 260 pounds, Hammer at 248. Fury looked in good shape. The bookies have it between: 1/14 - 1/20 for Fury and 7/1 - 10/1 Hammer. Guest bigmatt
Tony Thompson vs. Odlanier Solis was last night not last Friday. I was trying to avoid spoilers but I chanced across one. I've not watched it yet but big TT scored another win (Solis retired on his stool after the 8th) and now Tony's back in the Boxrec top 10 at number 7. The world title journey continues! Deontay Wilder next please! I'll have to keep the avatar now.
Guest bigmatt
I was very close to putting a good bet down on Nelson knocking Overeem out when the odds were extremely tempting. I'm glad I didn't now.
King 277
Are Sky Box office showing Mayweather/Pacquiao?/, I didn't see any adds for it yet.
Evil Gringo 279
Wonder if Hendricks is the number one contender to the 170lb belt now with that victory over Brown? Barring a rematch between Lawler and McDonald he has to have next surely at this stage? Also Joanna Jędrzejczyk is a scary women.
Guest bigmatt
Are Sky Box office showing Mayweather/Pacquiao?/, I didn't see any adds for it yet. I had the same thought and so checked around about a week ago and the story was that BoxNation and Sky were competing to get the UK broadcast rights. The rights were expensive as you can imagine, Sky were favourites but BoxNation hadn't given up. It was also speculated that it would be a higher PPV price than normal. I have no idea if all that's true but that was the story. I'll have to have a look around again and see if there is any more news. Wonder if Hendricks is the number one contender to the 170lb belt now with that victory over Brown? Barring a rematch between Lawler and McDonald he has to have next surely at this stage? Also Joanna Jędrzejczyk is a scary women. I read somewhere that Dana wasn't a big fan of the performance or something like that?
King 277
I can't imagine Box Nation outbidding Sky for the biggest fight ever, makes sense though, cheers mate.
Guest bigmatt
Ricky Hatton on Gennady Golovkin: "Golovkin? Jesus Christ, an animal. You know what I mean? DC 536
Rousey's next opponent is going to be Bethe Correia; the Horsewomen Slayer. The fight is on August 1st and will be in Rio.
Evil Gringo 279
Jessamyn Duke and Shayna Baszler are a bit pap though, I don't see anything from Correia that should prevent Rousey from beating her. The only slight issue might be her fighting outside the US and needing to spend the last week pre-fight in Brazil but Ronda has competed in the Olympics and Judo tournaments abroad so I don't see that being the biggest issue in the world. The Fury 65
That press conference with mcgregor and aldo was awesome. Did anyone see the highlights of it and how one mma fan said to conor about the delusional fans then one fan shouted 'if one goes to war we all go to war' :lol This fight will be awesome. Chris2K 176
A court has granted Bellator's request for an injunction to stop Quinton Jackson fighting at UFC 186 so his fight with Fabio Maldonado is off and his UFC contract may be completely invalid if this goes further. The show itself is looking horrendous, headlined by Demetrious Johnson (bad start) against Kyoji Horiguchi (yikes) the only real major name on the show is Michael Bisping who is fighting CB Dolloway. Guest bigmatt
Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, Carl Froch's first choice for his next and possibly final opponent in Las Vegas on PPV, got stopped by Andrzej Fonfara on Saturday night. He knocked him down in the ninth and Chavez couldn't start the tenth. A big blow for Froch. I wonder what he will do? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F7zuGdT-rJQ

Guest John Hancock
The Nevada Athletic Commission has introduced a new set of punishments for failed drugs tests in MMA and they are haaaaaaarsh. - Any fight where one fighter fails a post-fight drugs test is ruled as a win for the clean fighter, no matter what the result of the fight was. No more "no contests". - Failing a steroids test is more harshly punished than failing a recreational drugs test. The new first-offence punishment for a steroid test failure is two years and half your purse. - The punishment increases with each offence, both in terms of the length of the suspicion, and the size of the fine. - Four failures for sedatives or weight-cutting drugs, or three failures for steroids or drugs is a lifetime ban. - If you try to avoid giving a sample, it's a four year ban. Do it twice, it's a lifetime ban. Some of these things are going to change as they're amended and stuff, but the word is that, if anything, they'll be amended to get harsher, not softer. I think we're about to see a big drop off in guys over 35 in the UFC in the next few months.

Evil Gringo 279
I agree that we will probably see a drop off in the older guys on the roster, no more little shortcuts and slaps on the wrists. Will the measures be retro-active as well? So for instance, Nate Diaz's previous and numerous failed tests being added to any new ones should he fight again?
Guest John Hancock
I don't believe they're retroactive, no. Not 100%, but that's the impression I got.
DC 536
I wouldn't think they'd be allowed to apply them retroactively, especially for offences that have already had a more lenient punishment.
