With the Ryder cup in September and the last Major of the year the US PGA in August I thought a golf thread might be some fun, The British Open seemed popular so to kick things off my pick for the US PGA is, Jimmy Walker.

I can't wait for the Ryder cup I seriously love this competition. I wish though there was a seniors Ryder Cup as well just to see Montgomerie, Langer Torrence, Olazabal etc that would be awesome. I also love Mickleson I want him to win the PGA. He is a great player but I want to see Poulter to do well to qualify for the Ryder Cup. Looking at the qualifiers and the standings there seems to be a lot of new faces.

I like the Ryder Cup, but I don't go mad for it, I prefer individual golf competitions as opposed to the team game. Hopefully USA win.

I'd like to see him picked, purely from a spectator point of view it'll be more interesting with him there. If Phil Mickleson doesn't go I'll be really pissed off.

Woods should not even want to take part as he has always played rubbish during the Ryder Cup and now he is completely out of form and has hardly played he should back down.

So that's how he was hitting it so long! :lol

In all seriousness though, when I first read he had "personal problems" and was taking a break from the game, I assumed it was depression. This I have much less sympathy for.

Could be a bonus for Tiger and Phil though!

The coke is only the tip of the iceberg with him, talk is he broke up 2 marriages of his fellow pro's by sleeping with their wives, he's engaged to Paulina Gretzky (daughter of Wayne) who's a big party animal herself and this is his 3rd time getting done for drugs.

When he took a "break" the last time he was done for coke and weed.

Rory came from behind to pip Sergio Garcia in the WGC last night. Everything the man touches is turning to gold right now and he's moved into the position of clear favourite for this weeks PGA Championship.

I don't think he'll win it though. I'd back an American. Maybe Ricke Fowler, Matt Kuchar, someone like that.

Pretty much :lol

I don't expect him to ever win a big one now, same goes for Westwood. Bottlers.

Such a shame for the man, it's only now that he looks almost done can we truly appreciate how good he was, I hope he can come back tho and win at least one more major x

I came incredibly close to putting serious money on Rickie Fowler winning this at 33/1 during the first day but didn't. So I'm hoping he spends the rest of his day scraping sand out of his soles. Lefty can fill his boots though.
