King 277
Argentina and the "flea" will win this, as I have Argentina backed from the start in nearly every bookie site known to man :lol
Guest Magic
Auf gehts Deutschland! Deutschland uber alles! Time for the old superpower to take back its place in the top seat of the football table!
Guest John Hancock
Please win this Germany. I've talked about how Germany haven't impressed me, and it's a shame that they'll win this instead of 2010, when they were the team or the tournament, but my God I cannot stand that Argentine team, or their fans, or, in vague national rivalry terms, I'm not a fan of the country in general. Guest Boyo
I'm not fussed either way who wins. I just want a good match. Not really looking forward to seeing how Germany plan for Messi; they have said they know how they'll deal with him, and I hope their plans fail, not because I want an Argie win per-se, I just want Messi running riot. I think Germany will win though. They'll by and large contain Messi, and they'll get a lot of free kicks. Not that Argentina are going to kick the off the park or anything, but it'll be one of those frustrating games where the ref always seems to blow for one team. Does anyone know yet if Di Maria is playing? I know he's a doubt, but not sure if the situation has been confirmed or not. Cheers!
Guest Jayfunk
The Dutch cancelled out Messi in the semis the Germans have more ability in the centre to do so also
Guest Magic
Replying to Mr Hancock from the other thread in here, as it makes more sense. I haven't be particularly impressed by either of them. In fact, the final in general doesn't interest me, other than it would be nice for some of my family to see Germany win, but whatever, 2010 was their year, they were so exciting. I feel like both teams have just fumbled and scraped their way into the final. Colombia, the Netherlands, France, Costa Rica, even Brazil on the right day, were more interesting and, on their day, more impressive than either of the finalists have been. A very underwhelming final, in terms of the tournament as a whole. I could not disagree more :lol I think it's the two best teams in the tournament, the two that deserve to be there and the two that will provide the most entertaining final. Messi's magic and flair vs. Classic German efficiency. What will win out in the end? I think it's the perfect final. Anything else would have felt like a let down to me. I have a team I love to cheer, going up against a team I really dislike. So I have a interest and a dog in the fight. If it was say, Holland vs Brazil, I wouldn't have been fussed either way and it wouldn't captivate my interest like this game. Guest Ciaran The King
Germany deserve this, they've played the better more exciting football over the course of the tournament

Guest Magic
Khedira out in the warm up. Kramer in. Potentially disastrous given how well Khedira played against Brazil. Gutted for him.
Guest Boyo
Yes, one would have thought Khedira would have been the one assigned "Messi Duty". Cheers!

Guest Magic
Higuain, that's a shocker mate. Absolute shocker. If that's Messi it's one nil. Thank god. Toni Kroos, you're a lucky boy son. Not sure if Christoph Kramer is gonna remember much of the best day of his footballing career after that shoulder from Garay.
Guest Boyo
Can't believe that Higuain miss! The one time he misses one, he couldn't have timed it any better. Cheers!
Guest Boyo
I think Argentina might just do this you know. But as I type this bloody Messi "does a Higuain" and misses a relative sitter. Cheers!
Guest Boyo
Wow. Yikes. Sheesh. That's either a penalty to Argentina or handball outside the box. Either way Neuer's getting a red card for the foul or the handball. Oh, free kick to Germany it is then. Carry on :). Cheers!
Guest John Hancock
It wasn't a foul either way, I'm not site what the ref was doing there. Neuer got the ball, Higuain got kneed in the head.
Guest Magic
Extra time then. My nerves are shot. Pleased with Gotze coming on, his pace should hopefully cause more problems than Klose was.
Guest John Hancock
I hate Muller's socks so much. They've pretty much ruined the World Cup for me.

Guest Boyo
Mario Gotze's goal was one of the best goals I've seen in a long time. Not so much in spectacular-ness or just sheer boom!pow!wham!-ness, but the technical brilliance required to chest-n-volley that cross, at that point in that game, was very nice to see. Germany are very worthy winners, fair play. Cheers!
Guest Magic
Messi absolutely wasn't the player of the tournament.
