Guest John Hancock
So, in his pre-fight interviews, Urijah Faber has talked a bit more about Duane Ludwig leaving Team Alpha Male, and it turns out their relationship is the reason why, that they, for some reason, just do not get on at all anymore, and aren't on speaking teams, or in contact. That can only mean one thing; URIJAH FABER HEEL TURN. MAKE IT HAPPEN. EDIT: Also, notice the inclusion of a man by the name of "Bubba Bush". That is his name. Guest The Beltster
I have/had a mate called Richard Bush, we always thought it was funny to call him Dick Bush at school. He didnt. I havent seen him in years. He was fat.
Guest John Hancock
This bad motherf*cker is TONIGHT. To anyone who ums and ahs about MMA and the UFC, and is sort of looking for an entry point, or you're just a casual fan, waiting for a good card without really being able to confidently tell what a good card really looks like, this is just about the WrestleMania of UFC, the Independence Day weekend card is always madness. If you ever intend to watch any MMA event at any point in the rest of you life, start here. In Britain and I guess Ireland (who knows what goes on in Ireland), it's free on BT Sports 1. The prelims start at 1am, the main card starts at 3am U.K. time. It's also going to be repeated at a more social time tomorrow night at 9pm, where it'll be immediately followed by the finale to The Ultimate Fighter Season 12, headlined by Frankie Edgar vs. B.J. Penn. Here's all the UFC Embedded episodes leading up to the fight; [video=youtube;_44lOzgNMm8] [video=youtube;GDvsu5L7x2Y] [video=youtube;9e5Sv61kqoM] [video=youtube;Y8IfZogFwoY] [video=youtube;y1tauLKdpuE] Edited July 5, 2014 by John Hancock
Guest The Beltster
Machida gonna sort that boy out!
Guest John Hancock
Yeah, I'm leaning toward Machida too. Although, if Weidman does win, he should get a Brazilian legend killer gimmick, where he just retires Brazilians every single fight. I'm taking Machida, Rousey, Struve, Santos and Doane to win. Evil Gringo 279
Machida on points will be the result of the main because he will just dance around Weidman, make him miss and then dart in with a combo at the end of the round to steal it in the mind of the judges. Should avoid leg kicks though. Rousey to win via.... armbar! They will all be expecting more striking seen as that won her the last title defence but then Judo 101 will resume against a gal who likes a brawl, therefore it would be silly to fight in that style against her. Great day of sport though, two World Cup quarter finals with a HUGE UFC card to top it off, it's days off like these I love.
Guest dpddave
Are you sure it's free on BT sports JH? I can't find that info anywhere else on the internets
DC 536
Are you sure it's free on BT sports JH? I can't find that info anywhere else on the internetsThe BT Sports website (which is the first place I checked) says it's live on the channel. "With two big UFC world championship bouts on the card, the event promises to be an action-packed affair and you can watch the prelims and the main card live with us here on BT Sport." "HOW CAN I WATCH IT? The Main Card and Preliminary Card will be televised live on BT Sport 1 on Saturday night/Sunday morning: 1.00am-3.00am: UFC 175 Preliminary Card - LIVE 3.00am-6.00am: UFC 175 Main Card - LIVE"
Guest John Hancock
Yeah, UFC's always free on BT Sports, in the U.K. at least.
Guest dpddave
Ah right, it's free if you actually have BT sports which is like 20 quid a month here. I thought you meant it was free, free. For free.
Guest John Hancock
Ah, no, sorry, yeah, it's free if you already have B.T. Sport. I'm pretty sure that's the only way to see it too, they don't really do pay-per-views outside of North America. I'm sure you can find a legitimate pay-per-view provider though. Guest John Hancock
The Struve/Mittroine fight has been cancelled after Struve passed out backstage. He's been out for almost a year due to a heart deformation, but was medically passed for this fight. EDIT: They're now announcing it on T.V., so it's official. EDIT 2: Tonight is the death of the great entrance music. "Bad Reputation" only works when they boo you, "I Won't Back Down" only works when everyone expects you to lose. They were my two favourite entrances last year, and now I'm heart broken! "Hey baby, there ain't no easy way out" directed at anyone other than Anderson Silva doesn't work. DC 536
Rousey won in only sixteen seconds. Is that a record in the female divisions?
Guest The Beltster
So hold up, people online going crazy over Weidman/Machida saying it was awesome and FOTY etc...I thought it was pretty boring and crap.
DC 536
UFC gave it FotN honours, along with Ronda Rousey and Rob Font for the Performance of the Night awards.
Evil Gringo 279
The fight was pretty boring for the first three rounds as Weidman cut off the space Machida wanted to dart around and scored some cheap points off the odd takedown, the odd jab and a leg kick now and again until Machida started to counter them. Then in the fourth and fifth rounds, a combination of tiredness from Weidman, some good body kicks from Lyoto and then sheer desperation from him as well went it was more of a slug fest in the fourth and fifth rounds. Ronda's knock out of Davis was the second fastest in UFC history and the quickest ever in the Women's division. Dana looked REALLY unhappy that the production truck and Rogan put her on the spot like that after the fight and it is clear that with movie promotion work, a possible knee operation and that broken hand a four week turnaround is not going to happen. Plus who would she fight? Tate again? Zigano is still out as well - there needs to be a contender build before they stick her in that cage again because everyone bar Zigano behind in the rankings she has beaten. Also how tough is Hall? That foot was mangled and still he kept going and going and declared life hits like a bi**h at the end. Shame he couldn't get a finish but seen as he has a dislocated bone and a compound fracture in his toe then I think we can all forgive him. Guest The Beltster
Rogan asked her if she'd fight in 3-4 weeks as the August show has lost its main event. He was told to do it by the truck, he didnt seem like he wanted to do it and Dana was furious at the truck, not Rogan, for putting Rousey on the spot. She pretty much accepted but looked confused and with her dodgy hand and knee theres no way UFC would have her fight in August anyway. Evil Gringo 279
Yeah as soon as the interview was over, Dana made a bee line for Ronda and was moving in his hands like Daniel Bryan shouting NO! so it became apparent from that second on that there was no way Ronda was going to be asked to do a four week turnaround. What in the holy hell is wrong with Aldo though, issues with weight cutting, injuries, lack of action, cancelled fights... soon they have to think of having a title strip or an interim title fight soon.
