TPIB 62
Every once in a while, WWE.com posts a list that peaks my interest for a friendly debate and their latest is a list of 15 Superstars (which includes two Divas) who should return for "one more match". I agree with a few of these while others I have no interest in. In any case, here's the list. What do you think? The Undertaker Stone Cold Steve Austin Goldberg Shawn Michaels Shane McMahon Hulk Hogan Kurt Angle Mr. McMahon Michelle McCool JBL The Dudley Boyz Steve Blackman Trish Stratus Papa Shango Scott Steiner Right off the top, let me just say that I have no interest in seeing Papa Shango, Trish Stratus, Steve Blackman, Michelle McCool, Mr. McMahon, Hulk Hogan, Shane McMahon, or Shawn Michaels ever wrestle again. In fact, why is Papa Shango or Steve Blackman even on this list? Seems random to me. When it comes to The Undertaker, I would be perfectly content not seeing him compete anymore. They ended the streak, so what's the point of The Undertaker coming back? By ending the streak, WWE pretty much took away the only reason for The Undertaker to still compete. While a lot of people probably still want to see Sting vs. The Undertaker (why isn't Sting on this list, by the way?), I think that would prove to be a mistake at this point in their careers. I've pretty much given up all hope on ever seeing Stone Cold Steve Austin wrestle again (not that I was entirely sold on the idea to begin with). There's nothing in it for Austin at this point. He doesn't need the payoff and he certainly doesn't need to risk his physical well-being. I also can't see an opponent for Austin that would still be able to bring out the best in Austin. The only person that comes to mind is Triple H, but how interesting of a match would that really be? With the exception of JBL, Goldberg seems to be the guy on this list closest to doing one more match, but I highly doubt he will bring anything special to his "one more match" scenario. The obvious opponent for Goldberg would be Roman Reigns. There's also Ryback, but Ryback vs. Goldberg would be a terrible idea compared to Reigns vs. Goldberg, but Reigns would likely have to carry Goldberg throughout the match and, as long as Goldberg has been away from the ring, it could turn out to be a dud. Despite what I think about his life and career choices, I've always been a fan of Kurt Angle's in-ring work and the prospect of seeing Kurt Angle vs. Daniel Bryan is very appealing to me. However, much like most of the people on this list, Kurt Angle's physical health is a major obstacle in his ability to have another match in WWE. Maybe it's a delusional hope, but I think that Kurt Angle could get in decent enough shape to meet WWE's physical requirements to compete. For better or for worse, Angle has always done whatever it takes to keep himself in decent in-ring shape. Given recent events (doing my best to avoid a spoiler here), I think it's a fairly good possibility that we will see JBL have at least one more match. Considering that he climbs mountains for charity, JBL seems like he is in pretty good shape. It would not be the first time that JBL has been "coaxed" away from the announce table to be an active competitor. I would be interested in seeing JBL have one last run as an active competitor. Sure, he may be flabby and stiff to work with (like he was the last time he competed), but as long as he can still hit a good Clothesline From Hell, I would be all for it. Since we are talking about the modern day Dudley Boyz here (which are non-existent when you think about it), I have no interest in seeing Devon compete again, but Bully Ray can still work and I would love to see him bring the "bully" character to WWE. Have you seen his calves? Enough said :lol Ever since his post-Steiner Brothers days, Scott Steiner has been a poor wrestler, at best. Steiner's promos have become the focus point of his career. I don't want to see Scott Steiner compete as he would likely injure himself, not to mention his opponent, so unless they just have Steiner come in to cut promos, I can pass on seeing Steiner wrestle again.
