Guest pheadley
will the wwe ever give david benoit a chance or will he always pay for his fathers actions.
Guest John Hancock
If he wants to be a pro-wrestler after all the things he's seen, he's out of his f*cking mind. I doubt WWE would let him in anyway, too many bad memories, and the media would eat them alive.
Guest The Beltster
If he really wants to do it it would be a shame for WWE to specifically not take him because of what Chris did, punishing a guy because of the actions of his Dad isn't right but I can understand their possible/probable preference not to have him on the roster. Guest Jack
There's no way he'll get a chance in the WWE, so his dads actions have already had a huge effect on his career. He could turn out to be the best worker in the world but the WWE still wouldn't go anywhere near him. If he's any good, he'll have a career in Japan or possibly Canada and if he's useless, I'm sure a bunch of scummy indie feds will use him for all the wrong reasons. It is harsh on him though. He could be the nicest guy out there but, unfortunately, he'll always be judged by what his dad did.
Guest pheadley
do you not think they would be a hipocrites considering they will be useing his father on the wwe network on old ppvs
Guest John Hancock
Not really, no. I kind of see your point, but I don't think the situations (using the Benoit video library, and using Benoit's son) are comparable enough for their to really be hypocrisy either way. I also don't know if hypocrisy and fairness are the issue. I mean, if I was making a remake of Schindler's List, and Bob Hitler was the best director in Hollywood, I still probably wouldn't hire him. Is that hypocritical? Hypocritical compared to what? I think WWE are just being careful of their image, and just being careful about good taste in general, I don't really think there's a double standard either way. Guest John Hancock
Yeah, but there's a difference between using what they already have and adding to it. The British Museum has the Rosetta Stone, but they probably wouldn't be okay handling anything you nicked out of Cairo's airport gift shop. Guest sanJmaru
There's absolutely no way that WWE will hire him. It's not happening.
Omega 354
I dunno, they've done a masterful job of making everyone forget that Curtis Axel is related to Curt Hennig. I think if they hired him, kept him in NXT under a number of random gimmicks which change his name that eventually they could call him up and it would only get a modicum of reporting. But as Belty says I have no idea why the f*ck he'd want to become a pro-wrestler in the first place.
Guest Ciaran The King
They could I stress could produce a documentary about Benoit covering the incident but it would have to be unlike anything WWE have made before. It would have to be released to little or no fan fair and handled especially carefully in the PG era

Guest Ciaran The King
I wouldn't say that there would be a positive outcome but they could tell there side of the story
ViciousPrism 177
WWE aren't using Benoit content in making fresh documentaries or compilation DVDs. They aren't making money off Benoit, they are making money based on shows. Completely different. As for David Benoit, he was supposed to do a show with Smith Hart's indy teaming with DH Smith, but Chris Jericho ripped him a new one because David isn't trained at all. He was supposed to go check out Lance Storm's academy, but didn't. Who even knows if David will make it through training. Time will tell, but if WWE do hire him, there'll be no mention of Chris at all. We'll all see the likeness and we'll all know who's kid it is but WWE won't acknowledge it. Besides that, we're basically forgetting the trend that the majority of 2nd generation wrestlers (Or at least ones coming through WWE/WCW) are shit. David Flair and Ted Dibiase Jr., for instance. Omega 354
I wouldn't say that there would be a positive outcome but they could tell there side of the story So there's no positive reason for doing it... I don't even. people buy ppv to watch certain wrestlers and certain matches and they do the same on the network. No they don't, you buy The Networkand get whatever programming WWE put on it and even if you could simply buy what you wanted then it STILL doesn't in anyway make a good argument for detailing anything about Chris Benoit! Guest pheadley
there 1000s of hours of content and you can pick and choose what you want to watch.
Omega 354
What I mean is that you can't just buy, for instance, all the Rock content or only buy the old WCW stuff. You buy EVERYTHING and choose to watch what you want so users are going to see the occasional Benoit Documentary episode pop up here and there regardless. This is rather getting away from the topic though, David Benoit could be stuck in NXT for a couple of years as some other gimmick and by the time he comes up to the main roster no none will really associate him with his Dad in the same way they would if they kept his name and brought him in now. Maxximus 353
David Binwah is a skinny little noodle body nobody. He'll never be a pro wrestler and if any indy shows use him as a special attraction, I hope the venue burns to the ground.
dsrchris 190
Besides that, we're basically forgetting the trend that the majority of 2nd generation wrestlers (Or at least ones coming through WWE/WCW) are shit. David Flair and Ted Dibiase Jr., for instance. Is it a majority though? Or is just the ones who get sold to us as 2nd generation (basically, the ones who get to keep the recognisable name) who were sh*t? I can't think of a good 2nd Gen star who got to keep their name (Orton, maybe? But then he's a "3rd Generation Superstar". Possibly Natalya, although they barely ever use Neidhart anymore.) But then you have guys like Bray, The Rock, and the Usos who don't have the family name (as such) yet are actually quite good? For the record, the Benoit kid isn't trained and has no business being paid to work shows until he is. That said, like others have already mentioned, it seems mental that he'd want to get into the business anyway? Although I have heard that he's all about his Dad, so there could be some weird paternal issues going on there. Purely speculation, but it makes you wonder. Guest FreeSpirit
Gosh this guy doesn't stand a chance. On one hand they'll be a set of fans who'll always compare him to his Dad's wrestling legacy. On the other hand he'll have another set of fans who will outright hate him for what his Dad did to his wife and son.
dsrchris 190
Was it ever likely to be any other way?
Maxximus 353
Imagine if he started wrestling and used a choke finish. He could call it "ode to a father" or "please tap out."
