Chris2K 176
With this show I think we're about to find out what the lowest PPV buyrate the UFC can do is. I'm guessing 95,000.
Guest Magic
The UFC is pretty much the only reason I pay 15 quid a month for BT Sport at the moment, and yeah... even I'm probably not gonna bother.
Guest John Hancock
It's in Canada, and it's got a Canadian in one of the main events, so it won't do that badly. I say 130-160,000. 95,000 would be Earth-shatteringly bad, off the top of my head, I think it would be the worst post-TUF show in UFC history, and this isn't going to be the worst post-TUF show in UFC history. EDIT: Looked it up. The last UFC pay-per-view to draw under 100,000 buys was UFC 53 in 2005. That show did 90,000 buys. There's no way, in 2014, the UFC goes anywhere near that. The two worst shows since then were UFC 55, which drew 125,000 in 2005, and UFC 147, which drew 140,000 in 2012. Guest The Beltster
Apart from the constant flying all over the place on almost a daily basis, Dana's life is amazing.
Chris2K 176
"How old are you?" "36" "But then why does it say..." "I just lied." I HOWLED with laughter. I could also watch UFC guys play as themselves all day if they have a game creative member there to complain to.
Guest John Hancock
I'm so happy Forrest retired whilst he was still sharp, he's one of the funniest guys in the UFC. His description of what it's like to be beaten up by Anderson Silva is beautiful. [video=youtube;V1R50LpFh_M]

Guest John Hancock
This show is tonight, and free on BT Sports in the UK. Anyone watching/predicting/specifically not watching because they hate lower weight-classes? I'm going to take Johnson, MacDonald, Cavalcante, Schaub and Jimmo. I actually don't see any reason fights on the main card, it's all really evenly matched. If I was 100% wrong with my predictions, I wouldn't be at all surprised, it's one of those cards. Guest The Beltster
I'm picking Woodley to KO and basically smash the shit out of MacDonald.
Chris2K 176
It was a dull show. Johnson has cleared out the Flyweight division but has proven to be too small for 135 in the past so we're stuck with him for a while.
Guest Magic
Didn't catch it. How was the Rory fight?
Guest John Hancock
It was a Rory fight. I stayed up and watched the entire show, and didn't have a peep to say about it, or the will to start the UFC 175 thread just yet. It was all very dull. The heavyweight fight was absolutely appalling, it was sport-damaging-ly bad, really horrendous. Dana White didn't even bother turning up at the press conference. Evil Gringo 279
I second that, it was an urrgghh show and even the prelims were boring as hell. I had to wake myself up about four times. The main event was just clinch fighting on the catch and the exchanging of knees, most of which were landed by DJ so he won the fight, the Rory fight was him teeing off with some good combos, but mainly jabs that were not powerful enough to hurt Woodley but all Woodley did was wing the odd super hard right hand, miss and gas himself out and the 'new' Ryan Bader that says he now understands striking showed that by throwing a punch, level changing and diving in for a double EVERYTIME and then doing nothing on the ground. Let us pray that the stacked (or at least for this day and age) card for 175 delivers where this one failed so badly.
Chris2K 176
Reports were that people started leaving during the main event, most likely due to a combination of boredom and Johnson's dominance. The fact that the decision announcement was met with a silence usually reserved for the first prelim fight certainly supports that.
Guest John Hancock
Ariel Helwani says it's because it was in Vancouver, which is where Rory MacDonald is from, and most people in the stadium considered that the main event. There's really no way the flyweight title should be headlining a card that weak anyway. I'd rather seeing that title being defended on T.V., or in a semi-main event, with another title in the main event, even if it's just the women's title, or another one of the smaller men's titles, there's just no way that title can carry a card by itself. Lot's of people are calling it, in terms of fan interest, the worst main event at a UFC pay-per-view in recent memory.
Guest Magic
I would certainly agree with that. I don't even have to pay for the shows and I wouldn't bother watching that card.
Guest John Hancock
Despite all my talk, there is rumour and a small amount of evidence to suggest this show may genuinely have achieved less than 100,000 buys, which is devastatingly bad. Not only would that make it the least watched UFC pay-per-view since 2005, but it would also put the UFC third, THIRD, in the month, behind not only WWE, which is embarrassing enough, but even behind Bellator. Again, it's just a rumour for now, nothing concrete what so ever, but a lot of people are stocking up on bottled water and tinned food and hiding under the stairs over this one, whatever the butyrate is. The highest estimates are about 125,000, which, while better than Bellator, are still Christ-awful for the UFC.
