Summer Transfer Window 2014

It seems like everyone is trying to get business done early this year.

Chelsea have agreed a 32m fee for Costa according to SSN which seems cheap. I'm guessing Courtois will probably go back to Madrid on loan as part of the deal.

I think £32million is his release cause, so Chelsea don't need to pay anymore unless someone else puts an offer in.

Leverkusen have confirmed the signing of striker Josep Drmic, who pretty much all the ITK's said was signing for Arsenal.

One rumour doing the rounds yesterday before seemingly dying on it's arse today was Javi Martinez?/Garcia? (I always get them mixed up - the Bayern one :lol) becoming available and ideally wanting to sign for Arsenal.

Erm, yeah. Can't see it myself.

Cheers!

lol at Atletico then. Liverpool met his release clause last Summer and it was around 23m I think. He signed a new deal afterwards, you'd think they would of put it up by a lot more.

Martinez Boyo, he's been linked with Liverpool today as well. We've no chance of signing him.

The Times reporting David Luiz has agreed to join Barca, they're normally a lot more reliable than anyone else.

Could be a busy couple of weeks as clubs look to get business done before the World Cup.

Southampton have had bids for both Shaw and Lallana.

Chelsea upset the applecart bidding for Costa the week before the 2 biggest games in Athleticos history!

Meanwhile Arsene Wenger is probably eyeing up a decent looking teenage French striker from some club in Ligue 3

Chelsea and United agreeing deals in principle for Costa and Shaw and Liverpool closing in on Lallana yet Wenger says no business will be done until after the WC. I can't understand why, I really can't.

Definitely the earliest I can remember with bids being made, Chelsea I believe will get Costa. My other query is if Liverpool purchase Lallana how will he fit in with current playmakers that Liverpool already have

^^ Coutinho will drop to the bench more often than not I'd say, we'll see a lot more rotation in the squad than we did this season anyway.

I don't expect Arsenal to make any signings until at least the 30th of August as usual.

Arsene Wenger hibernates for the Summer, like a reverse-bear.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this but Rio Ferdinand is gonna be job hunting this summer. Not really a surprise, he's about three years out of date.

He'll probably go to America. Maybe Beckham's new team.

John Terry has been told that, if he wants to stay with Chelsea, he'll have to take a 60% pay cut. We'll see how that goes. No word yet on wether Cole and Lampard have even been offered new contracts, although Mourinho, at least publicly, wants all three of them to stay. It's also believed that Mourinho has advised the board to let Eto'o's contract expire without renewal.

If I was Chelsea I'd keep all three around, but only at the significantly reduced wages that is being mooted. If they weren't willing to take the cut then I wouldn't lose to much sleep about letting them go, even Terry after his good season.

I'd be a little hesitant about giving Terry AND Luiz away in the same transfer window, as that would only leave Cahil as the sole established centre-back. They've got Zouma and Ivanovic and even Kalas, but they'll still probably have to bring someone more used to the position and with more top-level experience if they do end up letting both of them go. Varane maybe.

If I was Mourinho I'd be keen to hold onto Lampard and Terry for what they can still offer the team on the pitch (in a small way) but also what they can bring to the team of the pitch. They are both leaders, they still have much to offer

We have signed two players already. Neil Danns and Liam Trotter both join permanently after their loan spells.

We are also apparently in talks to sign Chris Burke from Birmingham, who will likely replace Chris Eagles.

To be fair Terry has been outstanding this season, he would England's first choice defender if he wasn't John Terry.....

Spoke to Jayden yesterday who clearly has a fantastic knowledge of Dutch Football and all things Van Gaal.

Van Gaal is nailed on for the United job, he was consulted on Shaw and wants to bring Strootman and Hummels to Old Trafford this Summer

I wouldn't be surprised to see Van Gaal sign a few Dutch players this summer to supplement his more marquee signings. Luke Shaw seems very likely for £27m (!! - yowzer) but I would expect them to have to fend off competition, especially if he has a good World Cup.

This may (finally) be the year that Man Utd sign Wes Sneijder. There's no gossip or anything about him this summer (for once!) but I have a feeling, a hunch if you will, that LvG is going to go for Sneijder, Strootman, Stekelenberg maybe. Experienced Dutchies to be in his corner in the dressing room.

Cheers!

Will Van Persie be staying with Van Gaal coming in? There was some rumours that he was going to leave.

I can't see Sneijder coming in with Mata already there, and younger. Also is Luke Shaw worth £27M

Van Gaal and Sneijder aren't the best of pals. There's grumblings that Sneijder won't even be going to the World Cup. It's part of the long tradition of everyone on the Dutch national team hating each other.
