I don't feel the need to ever becoming being independent. I like being in the United Kingdom. Say that allowed up hear in some places though and you are nailed to the cross. Particularly in the West.

Thankfully I don't venture into that dangerous territory very often! Last time I was in Glasgow I felt legit scared for my safety :lol

Inno, I was up at Oran Mor. And had to walk from their to Queen Street station after 10 pm. It was a terrifying ordeal. There were youths gathered outside an offl license and everything!

That's awesome Gene! Where about? Fury lives there too! I have the type of relationship with Glenrothes where it's ok for me to bad mouth it, but if anyone else does then f*ck them!

It's not so much scary these days, just that it kind of lacks... stuff.

Balfarg? On the outskirts,i grew up in a wee village just outside Glenrothes so I know the area pretty well.Although I was still shocked when I went to the chippy and all the bins were chained to the railings! On the plus side if your ever in the area I can show my all my wrestling videos/DVDs to someone that would appreciate them haha!

Try the Chinese at Cadham, the family of another friend of mine own it!

This thread should probably be split! :lol

Yeah, I fear for my life everytime I go into Glasgow. There's just so many people. Not to mention the last time I was there, a bunch of what I can only assume were dancing monks came up to me and tried to get me to join in and take a pamphlet. Crazy.

But as for Scottish Independence, it's a tricky subject. On one hand, I would love to see Scotland as it's own country and have a 'Scottish' box when signing up for things rather than British (cause I'd personally class myself as Scottish over British) and to not have English politicians make decisions for Scotland (when the decisions they make are actually based on English needs over Scottish needs, I feel).

But on the other hand, being independent is a pipe dream. It's a fantasy. It's something that would be great, but in the long run would be our downfall. A lot of people say "Aw, if ye dinnae want tae be independent, then ye urnae a true Scot! SCOTTISH AND PROUD!!!!" But I am Scottish and I am proud of it, I just know that in the long run it would be detrimental to our country. Sure, the current system has it's problems, but how many problems would we have if we were on our own? Most likely double our problems right now.

The one thing about Glasgow that I love is that huge statue of a man on a horse, with a street cone on the head. What's funnier is how they just keep on putting it back up there...

Duke of Wellington. The tale used to be that on a Friday in the wee small hours, the cops would climb it and put the cone there to stop the dafties trying it over the weekend and falling and killing themselves ;)

Oh, and it's evolving:

That sounds like it could pretty well be true, it's great how one random act of daftness can still be around after all this time xD I see that it became a trend with other statues around Glasgow too. Somewhere, a ned is feeling pretty damn good about themselves for putting that up there in the first place.

Maybe we should call this thread, Magic and GENE's room :P

Nice to see GENE posting again mind.

Despite visiting Glasgow plenty of times, honestly we're probably into 3 digit figures now, I've never been to Edinburgh I think I'm going to try and rectify this before the end of the year.

Edinburgh is my favourite place to live, and I don't see myself leaving any time soon. It's probably at a detriment to my career actually, because I could probably find a better job elsewhere, but I refuse to move. It's my home, where my girlfriend is, wherre my best friend is, and only a 1 hour bus drive to Glenrothes where my family is. I don't want to be too close to them! :lol

Also, GENE, yeah it's the Kingdom Chinese next to Doms! I like Doms as well though, does a good Munchy Box.
