Guest John Hancock
You can stop drinking yes its hard but it's not impossible And what are you basing that on?
Guest Boyo
It's not impossible to just simply quit cigarettes, crystal meth, gambling, sniffing glue, heroin or alcohol, unless you're addicted to them, Jay. Which is kinda what you're not getting here. Cheers!
Guest Jayfunk
You can stop drinking yes its hard but it's not impossible And what are you basing that on? Nothing is impossible. So no one ever has been addiction to anything and gave it up? Of course they have. Many people some people just don't want to. You need to want to change to actually change
Guest John Hancock
Brilliant logic. Something happened, thus, it always happens. By your logic, the fact that some people have become millionaires means that the people who aren't just don't want it enough.

If you want something so bad you find a way the greatest people do find away many drunks druggies have came back. Guest Boyo
One of my friends at work is addicted to Nicotine. He's "by and large" given up cigs & cigars etc, but he still "vapes" and whacks patches on his arms endlessly. When put to him that he should beat his addiction to Nicotine he argues that it's impossible, because he's addicted to it. When it's pointed out that plenty of people quit smoking, he points out that he's quit smoking too, as he's not addicted to tobacco, but Nicotine. When it's put to him that plenty of people have stopped ingesting Nicotine, his response is that they were never addicted in the first place, they were merely very fond. I'm not addicted to anything so I'm not in a position to argue, but I see his point. Cheers!

If you want something so bad you find a way the greatest people do find away many drunks druggies have came back. You assume it's impossible it's not your wrong So you have everything you want in life? No but I am not willing to put in everything to get it. I said this very line to a boss of mine and got praised for it nothing is impossible it might just take a while I believe that I don't by the whole they cannot be addicted non sense don't undermine someone's victory by coming up with excuses if you happy as you are fine I am not judging but I don't feel sorry if you want help i will help but addictions can and do get beateb

Guest Jayfunk
To answer your question no but I haven't put the effort in. To boyos comments about people not being addicted if they can give it up actually is a tad insulting to people who have and there are many people who have beat addiction You have to want to change some people don't want to but they have the potential to beat it
Omega 354
So people who die from whatever they are addicted to simply wanted to die rather than give up? Two threads, twice the idiocy.

As I said if I died of liver illness if I drunk too much that's my responsibility everyone has the potential to change they clearly didn't find the moviation or left it too lare Edited August 22, 2014 by Jayfunk

Evil Gringo 279
I was an addict, I may not take my drug of choice anymore or drink but I am still an addict because I still crave those substances and all it takes is one pint and that will be me on a bender or one pill and I'll relapse. Your addiction never actually goes away Jay, take it fron me - I've not taken drugs in 9 years or drank in nearly 4 but good god you miss them, no matter how many times you go over the mistakes that occured in your life because of them, your brain, or at least the horrible part with no concept of logic, still nudges you to go do them again. You don't beat it, you try and lock it in a dark corner of you're mind, then try and ignore it and fill your time with other things. If your lucky it works but everyday you face it. If your lucky it works but everyday you face it. you have beat it you don't give yourself credit you win over addiction every day you don't do those things that destroy you. You make that choice to associate more pain in doing it than joy from doing in. People's personal responsibility and will determines if they relapse but many people stopped the bad habits. I would say you have controlled your addictions and are beating mate fair play
