Shaun2J
Get outta here! You haven't finished Music Club VI! Everyone else can pass GO. So this round is dedicated to the more droozy, gentle, softer, quieter, maybe campfire sound. It's not supposed to knock you into a coma like the title suggests, but it shouldn't contain bass massages, Spinal Tapian Volume 11 amps or Manowar. This is pretty much your definition of what's calm, the reviews will be possibly there to dispute that but it's all Music Club stuff 101. Participants: Go! - Eddie (Has to review Laffy) Sunday 7th Sept. - Inno (Has to review Shaun, Maxx, Shao and Laffy) Friday 13th Sept. - ShaolinHandLock Thursday 19th Sept. - Shaun2J Wednesday 25th Sept. - Maxximus Tuesday 1st Oct. - Laffy Edited November 13, 2013 by Shaun2J

ShaolinHandLock
I would, but my definition of 'calm' music is quite weird. I'll try I guess.

Eddie
Here goes... Ray The Mountain- All The Wild Horses [video=youtube;J-9IK02qkZc] Stonesour-Bother [video=youtube;Q-pXD0FXLQ8] :)
Inno
Eddie Ray Lamontagne - All The Wild Horses He seems to be in that group of guys that break out with a huge single and a decent album, but then vanish as quickly as they appeared - Shawn Mullins, Marc Cohn, Mark Germino... I dig this though. He's got a great voice, must hurt like hell with all that gravel in his mouth ;) 7/10 Stonesour-Bother Corey Taylor is a much better singer when he's not got a mask on and screaming his lungs up. This is my favourite Stonesour song. This would be an awesome centre piece of an unplugged set with a big orchestra behind them... 9/
Shaun2J
Ray Lamontagne - All The Wild Horses Just to add onto Inno, I think regardless of how he breaks out, he wouldn't care, he knows his place. He's the reclusive folk guy with a beard. A nice beard. Good for him. I really liked it, I'm in to a little folk now and then, Glen Hansard, Nick Drake etc. It just ended out of nowhere though 8/10 Stone Sour - Bother I really don't like Stone Sour but his voice is really young compared to the last few years. It's got that Metallica Orchestra feel to it but I just can't get into it. 4/
Maxximus
Lord Eddard Stark Ray Lamontagne - All The Wild Horses This is very nice. Melodic without being over produced. Insightful, meaningful and emotional then it just fades away; kinda like life. The slight strings at the end is a every nice touch if not a bit sorrowful. I don't usually listen to stuff like this as it sends me on a spiral of listening to emotional ballads to the point of tears. Great listen though. Don't mind it at all. 7/10 Stone Sour - Bother I really like Corey Taylor. Out of all the "nu-metal" guys he's showed the most potential, talent and diversity. Stone Sour is a great outlet for his more creative/emotional side and I sure can dig it. I love the man's voice and lyrical content. I've heard this song many times and will continue to do so in the future. It's one of those songs that makes me look at myself in the mirror and decide, for all my flaws, that I've done pretty damn well in life and will always have something to look forward too. 8/
ShaolinHandLock
I've been doing other stuff, so I'll do my reviews either tomorrow or the next day. With that said, someone else can go ahead of me on the schedule if they want to, because I haven't picked what I'm going to post yet. Inno
Just a couple of songs that I put on to chill out, relax, get ready to go to sleep... [video=youtube;V2e_RFqCiRc] Peter Wolf - Sleepless [video=youtube;ohNxei2yLXQ] Fun Lovin' Criminals - Up On The Hill
ShaolinHandLock
Ray Lamontagne - All The Wild Horses - Too slow paced for me. Not a fan of the vocals either. Sorry, not for me. 3/10. Stone Sour - Bother - Not my thing, but it didn't annoy me or make me want to rip my ears off. So it gets extra points for that. 4/10. Peter Wolf - Sleepless - Like the previous song, it's not my thing, but it also didn't annoy me. 4/10. Fun Lovin' Criminals - Up On The Hill - Something about this sounds familiar, but I haven't heard it before, so I might have heard it sampled somewhere. This is suprisingly good. 7/10. Shaun2J
Peter Wolf - A Lot of Good Ones Gone It's average, not much too it. It works as a background song though. 5/10 Fun Lovin' Criminals - Up On The Hill This is smooth but let's leave it at that, the vocals just so remind me of the 90's and the softer euro dance pop songs. Man they were brutal times. That being said, I'm not really into it. 4/
Laffy
Ray Lamontagne - All The Wild Horses This start off really well I like it but somehow got bored in the middle and then caught my attention again towards the end. I would listen to it again but not something I would seek out or buy 6/10 Stonesour-Bother I really like this and will add it to my collection, it ticks every box mellow enough to have in background but not loud enough to disturb if you wanted to have on before trying to sleep. I really like the song as well seems perfect really. 9/10 Peter Wolf - A Lot of Good Ones Gone As said by Shaun this is a great background song. I like it and am sure I have heard it before. This is the third time I have listened to it and the song seems to be growing on me so has done the trick. 7/10 Fun Lovin' Criminals - Up On The Hill This is ok not my favourite but does it's job. Not sure i would listen to it much as it is not my thing but if it came on the radio i would listen to it. 6/
