John Hancock
I'm a Bialystok guy, but it would be fun for me to see Warsaw in the group stages.
Boyo
Apologies to BRM for the Arse-centric post but I've just seen that Arsenal have drawn Fenerbache. Yeesh, that could've been kinder. Cheers!
Ryan
Piers Morgan on Twitter... @piersmorgan: If we lose to Fenerbahce after buying no players, and then miss out on Suarez as a result, I will buy Arsenal and fire Wenger myself. Ill buy a share in that.
BRM
Yeah not a particular kind draw for Arsenal, but you would expect them to be able to edge it. Also a repeat of the 2005 semi final in there too. Dinamo Zagreb (Cro) v Austria Vienna (Aut) Ludogorets (Bul) v Basle (Swi) Plzen (Cze) v Maribor (Slo) Shakhtyor Karaganda (Kaz) v Celtic Steaua Bucharest (Rom) v Legia Warsaw (Pol) Lyon (Fra) v Real Sociedad (Spa) Schalke 04 (Ger) v Metalist Kharkiv (Ukr) Pacos Ferreira (Por) v Zenit St Petersburg (Rus) PSV (Ned) v AC Milan (Ita) Fenerbahce (Tur) v Arsenal Celtic should fancy their chances also, but by heck is that one long ass trek into the unknown. Inno
In theory, should suit Celtic. Get a 0-0 over in Boratland and finish it at home. In theory, mind.
Burakiosaurus
If we don't concede more than 1 in Istanbul we have a fighting chance as we can't be as bad as we were in 2008 when we let in 5 at home!
The Fury
Other Football Results/Discussion 2013/14 Celtic showed how average they really are by losing 2-0 to team borat
dpddave
I'm watching PSV vs Milan and PSV have a serious amount of talented young players. Every single one of them seems to have pace, an eye for goal and great technical ability. Adam Maher in particular looks really good. Boyo
Other Football Results/Discussion 2013/14 Yes I'm watching that match too. I like Maher and Matavz :). Cheers!
Boyo
Crumbs, Koscielny's taken a right old thwack to the face there. Hope he's alright. And I hope Arsenal don't throw this away tonight. Fenerbache are there for the humping. Cheers!
Jamster26
Arsenal have played very well, just lacking that killer pass to get the one goal before the flood gates open. Worrying how short at centre half they are though.
Boyo
Aaron Ramsey's been immense for the past 20 or so Arsenal games. I hope he's finally over that injury and can get on with his career (not to mention getting those ignoramus Arsenal fans off his back). He's Arsenal's best midfielder in 2013. 0-2 up. Wouldn't mind Gabry and Sanogo given 20 minutes. Cheers!
Jamster26
Haha, their keeper has to be saving Ramsay's goal.
Boyo
Giroud's penalties are as handsome as the man himself. Incredibly important result, I reckon. 0-3 up, 3 away goals, next leg at home... something incredibly bad (some would say, "Arsenalesque") would stop us from going through to the group stages now. This result might just land us a slightly better player in the transfer market. Who knows, maybe they've been waiting to see if we got through. Anyway. Gnabry and Sanogo. Where are they? Cheers! Jamster26
I think Giroud is underated personally. I've been impressed with what I've seen from him.
BRM
You have to give Arsenal credit for tonight's win in Turkey. On paper a 2 legged play-off against a side that made the Europa League semis last season was extremely tricky to say the least. But here we sit half way through the tie with Fenebache needing a minor miracle to progress. Considering the start that Arsenal made in their domestic campaign at the weekend they were under a huge amount of pressure tonight and I think It's fair to say they coped with It very well indeed. Burakiosaurus
we were utter crap, deserve to get booted out for that shower of shit of a performance
Ryan
I really do fail to understand why Sky would rather show Liverpool vs Notts county in a meaningless cup than a Champions League game. Sometimes their schedule baffles me, I don't think I'll ever understand their reasoning.
Jamster26
Is it not on ITV?
Ryan
It wants to be! I'll have a look now.. Edit: Woohoo the world is good again! Still doesn't make my hatred for Sky's scheduling go away.
Boyo
I hope we get to see one or two of the kids tonight, seeing as we got such a great result last time. Obviously start with a strong team, hopefully grab a goal or two, and then bring on Zelalem, Gnabry, Eisfeld, Sanogo, whoever else is on the bench. Cheers! Sometimes their schedule baffles me, I don't think I'll ever understand their reasoning. Sky are contractually obliged to show 2 games from The 2nd round of the Capital One Cup this week. it's not like they go around the world of Football and go hey we're going to show this random game this week. Inno
The qualifying rounds are pretty much open season for broadcasters too - Celtic's two previous away games in the qualifiers were on BBC Scotland - BBC have never had Champions League rights! :D
Boyo
Szczesny's having a brilliant game so far, as is Ramsey. Cheers!
