Personally, I hate Superman for basically being comic-book Jesus....supposedly... yet he gets to have relations and kill people while still being morally superior, but that's ok, because he's Superman. He's a hypocritical sack of shit, so **** that and **** him too, preferably with a giant kryptonite dildo which tears him in two, the smug son of a kryptonian *****.

 

Smallville, on the other hand, was fine and I had no real issues with the version in Man of Steel apart from the one I mentioned in the other thread.

 

Batman, on the other hand, doesn't try to claim the moral high ground, in fact he's pretty honest about being a bit of a bastard.

 

Plus Superman is ****ing Superman. The only time he has to work for a win is when he's being a retard or his previous stupidity is coming back to bite him in the arse.

As far as I remember "proper" Superman, like, main canon Superman, has only killed like four or five people; some aliens with some gold Kryptonite or some-such silliness and Heather when she got taken over by an alien mind-control thing.

 

Batman's killed all kinds of motherf*ckers in the old days. I'm pretty sure he even straight up carried a gun with him at one point (http://www.cracked.com/article_20111_the-6-most-brutal-murders-committed-by-batman.html)

 

Killing aside though, Batman still openly tortures and mutilates people. He has a really weird enjoyment in crippling dudes and then loling to his mates about how they technically aren't dead, which somehow seems worse.

 

There's a book by Neil Giaman called Super Gods, which I really recommend. It's a part autobiography, part history of superheroes, part psychoanalysis of trends in superhero stories, and, in a chapter dedicated to comparing Superman to Batman, he sums it up perfectly by saying Superman's The Beatles, Batman's The Rolling Stones, and I'd take the Stones over the Beatles any day.

Supes will always be superior. Since he's an actual superhero (read: Alien who has powers on Earth due to the sun) as opposed to Batman who has gadgets, weapons and automobiles.

ok so I've been reading the Batman/Superman crossover new comic along with the entire New 52 Batman ongoing, because I really want to at least try and like him seeing as he is going to be such a big part of the Man of Steel sequel. And after reading all these comics I decided to give the Batman trilogy another try. I just finished watching Batman Begins and I enjoyed it far far far more after reading more Batman comics than I did a few years ago when I went into it cold not really having any interest in Batman whatsoever.

 

So so far, thumbs up.

 

For the record though, Superman would still f*ck him up. With ease. In his sleep!
