Ryan 188
I'm not going to lol quite as much as Drake, but until Arsenal make a REAL statement of intent by bringing in a record signing or 5 then I wouldn't waste your money at the moment mate. Like I said before I'm worried by Arsenal at the moment and I have such a horrible feeling we're going to "do an Arsenal" and remain dormant in the window until the last moment when we sign someone good but largely pointless. As much as it probably doesn't mean anything, I hate waking up every morning and seeing Chelsea linked with big players, City linked with and bringing in big players, United, Spurs, all of them being talked about and linked with the best in the world, but Arsenal? Never. Probably because they know they can link us with whoever they want, they're still not going to get a story at the end of it. Oh sorry we have been linked with Fellaini this morning, but Wenger is unwilling to meet his 23m buy out clause. Goodnight mister Tom. You know I really wouldn't be surprised if Gazidis coming out and saying we can financially compete is just to keep the ever inpatient Arsenal fans at bay until we actually can compete in a couple of years. Guest Magic
Can't quite understand it myself, when they already the renowned Graeme Carr doing what is essentially the exact same thing. Joe Kinnear hardly comes accross as a man with his finger firmly on the pulse with regards to young, exotic footballing talent.

King 277
A journo on Sky said that a Premiership manager phoned him and said it was the strangest thing he ever read :lol
Guest Boyo
I've seen it suggested (tongue in cheek I'd imagine) that as Kinnear left Newcastle due to health conditions, then by law they had to give him a job once he got better. Funny either way. Cheers!
Guest Boyo
Gareth Bale has applied to trademark his "11 of Hearts" goal celebration which, if successful, could see him earn £3m a year from it. So let me get this straight, he does the "heart" thing. Fair enough, but he didn't invent it and certainly isn't the only player who celebrates like this. He calls it the "11 of Hearts", which is a heart with an 11 in the middle (his shirt number), although he doesn't / can't do the 11 with his fingers when he does the celebration. I'm sure it's excellent business sense but - bleugh! - it makes you cringe. Interestingly, Real Madrid do not have a number 11 in their squad. Cheers! Guest John Hancock
I guess it's okay if it specifically involves the eleven, which is what I assume it would be, it would be ridiculous to trademark the heart sign itself, because people have been doing that for ages. He wouldn't be the first person to trademark a hand gesture though, Jay-Z had to pay royalties to Diamond Dallas Page for using the "Diamond Cutter' hand sign. Guest Boyo
If you look at it insomuch as he's probably going to have a range of sports kit named after him then it makes more sense. R9, CR7, DB23 all spring to mind. I heard Anelka copywrited something to do with 39 too. Cheers!

Guest Magic
Newcastle have yet to confirm it. Would be funny (and kinda sad) if Joe's not actually got a job and he's just lost his mind in the media.
Guest Jamster26
Did anyone listen to his radio interview? Lord Almighty. Edited June 18, 2013 by Jamster26
Guest bigmatt
It's a good job that radio interview ended when it did. "I can open the door to any football manager in the world, anyone." "I spend my whole life, picking up the phone, talking to Alex Ferguson, week in, week out" "[i can] Pick the phone up at any time of day and speak to Arsène Wenger." "I invented the telephone" "Door handles were my idea, before that everyone just stayed on one side of them" "When I was Manchester United manager, I signed Crustyarno Ronaldo" "I invented goalkeepers" "I'm Messi's Dad"

Guest Boyo
Cheers King. BRUTAL initiation for Moyes this season. Cripes! If he can come through that without losing all of the big matches, which he feasibly could, then it should get a bit easier in late October. Cheers! King 277
Xmas is brutal for us, if we can get a good start and looking at the fixtures there is no reason why we can't then bring em on :lol Oh and Liverpool Vs Man Utd and Arsenal Vs Spurs on deadline day, poor Jim White :lol
BRM 220
Will deadline day fall on a weekend? Pretty sure the FA offices will be closed. One if not both games will be moved to Sunday either way.
Guest John Hancock
So Moyes' first competitive home game will be against Chelsea. Could be interesting, that's a bit of a baptism of fire for him, but, if he passes it, that would squash a lot of uneasiness very early on in the season. If Chelsea win, however, that'll be a huge, early vindication for Mourinho.

Dead Crow 370
Phil Neville expected to named as a first team coach at Man Utd in the next few days: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2013/jul/04/phil-neville-joins-manchester-united-coach?CMP=twt_gu I'm always happy for ex-players to become part of the backroom staff. To me, it improves any club to have icons and legends (playing too much Football Manager, there) to have former players helping out. The likes of Sir Bobby Charlton have done us a world of good in PR terms, and any team with Neville and Scholes on the coaching team will be better off for it.
