Guest John Hancock
I like DC, but I'm way more of a Marvel guy. That said, most of my favourite comic books aren't super-hero ones anyway.
ViciousPrism 177
Seriously, how fun is it to type, let alone saying it out loud. BAMF!! BAMF!! BAMF!! It has nothing on... BAMN~! BAMN~~!! BAMN~~~!!!!
Paul 584
I tended to prefer DC to Marvel myself, I always found them grittier and darker in tone when I was younger. And of course the Vertigo line only added to that.
Guest Reno
Does everybody here only read and know Marvel or are there some DC guys about too? I like Marvel but never as much as Batman, and Green Lantern books. Although I was always a big Fantastic 4 guy when I was a kid. I'm extremely pro-DC Comics. Currently enjoying Flashpoint and looking forward to the DC Comics relaunch in September once Flashpoint ends, it's going to be great for new readers and pretty good for those like me who try not to jump onto series unless you can get them from the very start. I've got a list of about 30 out of the 52 comics that I'm getting for sure, tempted to shell out for all 52 if I can afford it. Also still really enjoying Batman & Robin, just waiting for the next issue to come out. Dick Grayson and Damian Wayne are an AMAZING team, and Dick is such a good Batman - different, but breaths so much new live into the character. With Bruce doing his thing in Batman Inc. (for now), Dick's really had a chance to shine, going to be a little bit sad when he's back as Nightwing in September and then we get Bruce and Damian teaming up, which will be equally as interesting. DC 536
When I said "he needs to use a device... which would be pretty much the same for anyone really", I was meaning it more that anyone could teleport if they had a device, not that everyone needs a device to teleport... but while we're throwing in names of mutants who can teleport, I'll add Azazel. Paul 584
I thought he was a demon, not a mutant.
DC 536
Marvel categorise him as a "Demonic Non-Humanoid Mutant".
Paul 584
Fair enough. I wonder where I got that from then?
Guest Beefhead
Juts getting back into batman again, excited for the relaunch. I read a bucnh of stuff last week and was like I dont know bout any of this :lol Had no idea who Damian Wayne was but after a little catching up I cant wait to get some graphic novel collections. I wish I had the money to follow the books regularly though. The other day I turned on Batman: under the red hood for the kids, and I forgot that the main jist of the storyline is based around Jason Todds death. So about ten minutes after it started Aislynn walks in looking like she wants to cry and says Dad, did Robin got dead? Guest Phil
Fair enough. I wonder where I got that from then? '*** he's part of the X-men? Seriously, I always considered Nightcrawler to be a mutant just because he was in the X men, no real thought went into it, just Xmen=mutant! to whoever created this thread - why did you leave in the bit where I call myself a tool? Now it just looks like I'm insulting myself for no reason :lol Anyone read ultimate Spiderman recently? Won't spoil it but just wondering if it's worth getting the TPB when it comes out? I used to read shit-loads of comics at Uni, but the last real big story I read was Civil War and that was about 5 years ago! Just getting back into Spiderman though, loving his new FF costume. dsrchris 190
I'm reading Ultimate Spiderman, and yes you should get it. The next issue looks like it's gonna be a corker. I may well shed a tear.

I managed to get a look at issue #160 'cause someone opened the spoiler-free bag that it was in. I've not followed Ultimate Spider-Man for a LONG time, I used to collect it when it first started but stopped. But yeah, 160 was pretty good, wasn't amazing or anything. It's probably worth waiting for the TPB when it comes out just so you can see how the sh*t goes down.
dsrchris 190
I'm looking forward to #160. I give them a download when they're released, but it balances out because I've bought every TPB when it's released. I think we're up to volume 25 or so now. I wish they hadn't changed the covers though, it's messing up the blue and red alternate covers on my bookcase. Anyone else reading Invincible at the moment? I was bit :eek about Atom Eve's secret about 2 issues ago.
Guest Reno
I've collect the big hardback volumes of USM now... by collect, I buy a new volume every couple of years. I had a lot of the single issues when I was younger, so I just buy the HC's once I feel like revisiting USM.
Guest John Hancock
I just bought my first big comic book volume hardback actually, The Death of Captain America. I'm planning to read it on the plane next week.

Guest Anime Otaku
This may or may not be of interest to people on here but Marvel have recently done a 4 series deal with a Japanese animation studio called Mad House (who are probably best known for the adaptation of Death Note but also did part of The Boondocks and worked with Satoshi Kon on Perfect Blue and Paprika among others) to produce 4 anime series based on Marvel characters. The four in question are Iron Man, Wolverine, X-Men and Blade Blade is the most recent and it's looking pretty good, unfortunately I didn't know about the others but I'm going to catch up on Iron Man and Wolverine and X-Men at some point I think since the new season of anime is a bit uninspiring. I did watch a bit of Wolverine episode 1 and it looks pretty good but I think Logan's design is a bit off, he's kinda pretty rather than looking rough. Maxximus 353
I never thought I'd hear someone refer to Logan as "kinda pretty."
Guest Anime Otaku
Yeah, apparently they fixed it in the X-Men series. Nabbed these two pics from the TV tropes pages for Wolverine and X Men (he's on the left) respectively. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v283/Tajiri_san/wolverine_6206.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v283/Tajiri_san/X-Men_Anime_Resized_9077.gif
