Guest DarkMatchJobber
It's been a huge success ever since it's creation in 1995 and has spawned countless merchandise including computer games, films, toys, clothes ,groceries and of course the TV Show. Watching some videos of it lately reminded me how great Pokemon actually is so I decided to make this thread for any Pokefans on TWO to talk about their favourite/least favourite aspects of Pokemon. My favourite Pokemon were Mewtwo,Machoke,Pikachu,Charizard,Bulbasaur,Squirtle and Meowth. I think Meowth was the funniest character in the TV series. JobberJoe 108
The television programme had no redeemable qualities. Ash never won a damn badge. Being good won't, on it's own, make you a success... but seemingly so in Pokeland. F*ck the programme and it's lies !
Guest Anime Otaku
This will probably not end well. I personally liked the GB game (I got red) though the thing of having only about half the pokemon on each cart was annoying if you didn't know anyone else with the game (seems to almost be a Nintendo trait as Animal Crossing had the same problem with the shop until the Wii version). Though the DS version does away with that problem to an extent with online trades. As for favourite 'Mon I like the fire types, I'm sure I picked Charmander for my starter in Red and I picked Chimchar in pearl and Eevee was quite a cool idea. I'm also quite partial to having Onix/geodude and Machop in my team. As for the show, I watched it a bit for he eye candy during battles but got tired fairly fast. JobberJoe 108
I agree Eevee was a good idea... until you realsed all 3 of the choices were sh*t and there were much better choices available of each type from much earlier in the game. The games were awesome though.
Guest Fiona
If I ever have to buy another Pokeman anything I'll scream. My son has the cards, games, used to have the clothes and anything else you can imagine. We went through a phase where all I could see was Pokeman stuff. I must have spent hundreds on the cards alone. I think we have every Pokeman game known to modern man also. Thank god he's grown out of it. I just got to the point where I couldn't afford it anymore. He still plays the games sometimes but not nearly has much as before.
Guest Reno
Surely this should be in the VG forum, as the video games came first? The show was great when I was younger, but I still play the games due to the simplistic yet deep gameplay accessible by children and adults, the difficulty level was based on how dedicated you were to levelling up, which I thought was great. My friends and I played quite a few games of Diamond/Pearl togather, I eventually got my team into the level 90's but lost my M3 card for my DS. :(
Ryan 188
I played it the other month on an Emulator when i was too ill to leave the house, got near enough all of the Pokemon (including Mew using a cheat) then got bored and started on FIFA Manager 2009, now im well enough id prefer to forget i ever indulged into the game as its quite, ya know.. embarassing :lol
Guest Nemesis Enforcer
I used to be a total fanatic when the game/cartoon etc came out back in '95 I could even name all 150 from memory in pokedex number order... wow now I think about it that was really really sad :( I had both Red & Blue games too followed by Yellow, Pinball, Green, Gold & Silver then I movd up to Colosseum(sp?) 1 & 2 and Snap (N64) two of which I imported from the US just to own :lol Edited December 11, 2008 by Nemesis Enforcer
Guest Kanenite
Funnily I was talking about this today along with Digimon, Recess and Dragonball Z. I absolutely loved it just like every other kid, I was addictic to everything Pokemon related and that lasted a good year. I used to make Pokeballs with these snooker balls I had, i'd wrap them up in paper and draw all of the stuff on them, that was awesome, and I remember drawing every single pokemon using my poster of the 150. The cards ofcourse were awesome, i've still got mine in a draw, just missing a couple which have got lost/stolen. The game was awesome aswell, I remember when I first got Red I couldn't get off it at all, then Yellow and Gold, all brilliant. But what an awesome franchise of stuff, as a kid it was fantastic, however I can look back now and think why did I ever.
Ryan 188
My friend found his old Charizard shiney card ages ago last year i think (the must have card i believe?), talk about marking out :lol we then realised what it was and what we were doing, had to start punchin' eachother, drink beer and hammer up some dry wall to feel like men again! :lol:lol:lol

ShaolinHandLock 73
Ok Pokemon..... When I was younger, I used to collect Pokemon Trading Cards, Pokemon Figurines and I had a lot of episodes of Pokemon on video. I still have all of my Trading Cards (with quite a few shiny's) and I still have the Video Games. I am no longer a fan of the Pokemon Anime(or even Pokemon in general).....but I still play the Video Games! :lol
Fidel Cashflow 130
Collected mad cards, and anyone who hates on the GB games are no friend of mine. The show wins solely because the theme song is the greatest arena rock recording of all time.

Guest Reno
Nah I was all about Magicarp :lol Magikarp will always have a place in my heart, especially since it evolves into the mighty Gyarados. My Pokémon team on every game always consists of a Gyarados which I had raised from a Magikarp.
