Ok, browsing through the interent on a quest for some info on some software I came across (not literaly mind0 the concept of LARP-ing, this is the act of Live Action Role-Playing. Now as a bit of a computer nerd and booker of an e-fed I can hardly say that Role playing is something I think of as lame but.....

Seriously, the last one is just cringeworthy. Plastic swords and people shouting "Lightning Bolt" at other pasty faced recluses. It just got em thinking what other lame things people had come across (not literally) on the net....

That was exactly the same in my school! People duelling with cards and then "fighting" and "spinning" like the cartoons, then they lay them down was the nerdiest thing ever.

 

Also walking into my local Woolworths and seeing loads of nerds lining up to battle each other with some sort of nerdy game, you could tell all these guys never saw the light of day with their pale skin and Pen protectors!

Got a new one, on MSN a mates name said 'typing slower because I'm using D-Dvorak' So I enquired and D-Dvorak is...a keyboard especially designed to improve the speed of one's computer programming...what the hells wrong with qwerty eh ?

We got them going at our place too, they sneak round the back of one of the computer labs because they aren't allowed to be there and then play games...if you go in and turn the lights on you get shouted at...I just wish I was joking here

I DJd a gig at a LARP event once. I couldn't enter to set up unless I had a character, I was given the character of - get this - a DJ. I was given a toy gun and a card with some kind of name written on it. If anyone challenged me I was to show them the gun and the card and I would be left alone as the gun would wipe their character from existence...

 

During the thing, the organiser came over and asked me to stop the music for a second, and then he took my mic and said some garbage about "I'm casting a spell of (something or other) so anyone with madic defence of less than 10, you all absorb 10 hits points... NOW"

 

And half the room fell to the floor holding their ribs and moaning and wailing.

seriously, i have to go to one of these live role playing bollocks meet ups. It'd be one of the funniest things you could ever observe in your life. One of the few occasions in life where you would be the odd one out and be proud to be the odd one out.

I even used to play Warhammer 40,000 at school and suck at Magic: The Gathering. You lot are just "boring" and "shallow" if you ask me. :D

 

Worst of all, I even say words like "1337", "pwn" and let slip the occasional "lol" in RL. :(
