Single Brand WWE

Do you guys think we will ever see the WWE with a single "brand" again? I hope we do but I don't see it happening anytime soon. I think having 3 "world" champions devalues the belts even more than they allready are. I doubt it will happen until they see any real competition. What about you?

Ther is no way there will be a single brand as there are too many wrestlers who are at main event status to cram into one show. If they were to go into a single brand again then the cruisers, tag teams and midcarders would be even more screwed than they are already.

 

I personally like having more than one champion as long as Cena loses his soon ( Ilike Cena just think he needs to chase it for a while). I think ECW needs another belt to fight for and like the set up on Smackdown just have a little more variety.

Most of the main eventers are only good enough to be mid card at best so I do not think it would cause any problems what so ever.

 

That said, I think ECW should stay a seperate brand and used for development.

The bad choice comes out of lack of stars to put the belt on. Which is why the brands should be joined.

But I think they don't have enough "star's" for three seperate rosters, and Smackdown and ECW suffer from this the most. I don't want an immediate switch back to the old ways but I would like one at some point down the road.

At this point the WWE has too much invested in all 3 shows to simply condense it to just one brand. Smackdown and ECW needs alot of help.Raw is still the creme of the crop of the 3 shows.ECW really needs more titles too.Bring back the ECW TV title and the ECW tag team titles.Smackdown just needs more incentives to compete with Raw.

 

If the WWE truly wanted to make an impact they should have an"open door policy" to allow any wrestlers from any wrestling promotion to come wrestle for them for a certain amount of time. If the fans wants to see more of some of those certain individuals then the WWE should start long term contract nogotiations.

 

Can you imagine how much more exciting Wrestlemania and the Survivor series would be if that happened? :-0

When you look at the legacy of the old ECW the ECW World title wasnt the only title that made ECW a household name.Some of the most rememberable matches in its history was the matches for the TV title and the ECW tag team titles.

 

Can you imagine how boring Raw and Smackdown would be if there was only one title to fight for? ECW is no exception to this rule.One champion is not enough. How do you build a better show? By having alot more to show right? Right. Bringing in more titles adds to that. I mean how can you truly have main event matches with just one measely championship on your show? :doh32:

Marcus cor von, Dreamer, Mike Knox, Big Vis and the miz could fight for the tv championship and think of the tag teams with Thorn/Bogeyman, Nunzio/stricker, Stevie Richards/Dreamer. Then ECW could be awesome and even compete to being the best brand as i would love to see some of those fights.

 

Smackdown has EDGE,Taker, Mysterio, Batista (if you must). Tag teams could be good and also get the cruisers going again properly this would add excitment add Finlay and hornswoggle to the mix and a lot of fun and must see matches could and should happen if the bookers were not crap and oh just give Matt Hardy a singles title run soon!

Personally i think WWE should go back to how things were when they first went into branding, well similar anyway. Have two seperate rosters, but only 1 of each championship, with the World, Tag, Cruiser, IC and Womens champion allowed to appear on either show, and perhaps also who ever was named number 1 contender would also be able to appear on both shows.

 

As for ECW having more titles, thats just rediculous, WWE currently has 9 different champions, that's too mcuh already, going into double figures is just complete overkill, especially since they now have all 3 brands on one PPV, and a typical PPV has 7 matches, that already makes 2 titles look worthless

But some of the most memorable matches in ECW also had no title whatsoever at stake? Thus meaning it doesn't need a title to have a great match does it?

 

Raw and SD are 2 hour shows thus there is time for more titles. ECW is a 1 hour show, where they don't use their time brilliantly and at the moment can barely promote 1 title.

 

How do you vuild a better show? By booking it better, spacing things out, giving more time to people, not having throwaway matches/characters/vignettes which serve no purpose.

 

Adding titles is just utterly moronic and would change absolutely nothing. But of course I should remember how WCW's ratings went through the roof when they added that Cruiser Tag Title in 2001. Cause well adding titles= ratings! Forget decent characters and booking, its all about belts!

ECW really needs more titles.

You, my friend, are obssessed with titles. Titles are not the answer. Infact, I would remove the World and ECW World titles, bringing the amount of belts to seven. I would then remove the World tag-team titles, making a total of six.

 

From there, I would re-instate the ECW TV Title, making that the main belt for the brand. The US Title would be the main Smackdown! belt, with the IC title following suit on RAW. The WWE Tag champs would defend across all three brands, as would the Cruiserweight, WWE men's and women's champions.

 

That would leave us with the following.....

 

Smackdown!

United States title exclusively.

 

RAW

Intercontinental title exclusively.

 

ECW

TV Title exclusively.

 

 

You then have defended on all three brands, but not always in the same week...

 

WWE Tag-Team Title

WWE Cruiserweight Title

WWE Women's Title

WWE Heavyweight Title

 

 

This opens up new fueds, establishes the titles better and creates more interest overall.

I wouldnt even mind seeing the IC title being made a big deal of again. They could scrap the ECW world, and the US title and stick the IC title as the main title on ECW.

I think,the tag titles,the us and intercontinal and world and WWE titles should be unified with the champs competing on each show. And just leave ECW as it is to develop new talent

I couldnt agree more with that.I dont mind TNA but it seems as if it wants to achieve something like WWE overnight which isnt going to happen.

 

I think Ecw would benefit from the addition of tag titles and the tv championship.It would give feuds an edge and give alot of the young stars experience in how to be the champion.

 

Ecw needs something to build it up as more than just a development program for future Raw/Smackdown stars.Im not saying titles alone will do that but it would be a start in making its setup at least look like that of Raw or Smackdown
