Guest Laffy
On a serious note my university lectures inspired my by showing me that they had faith in me and by showing me that although i was having problems every year that i passed was one less that i had to complete to get my degree. I had pneumonia in the first year and the F'n dean would not class that as extenuating circumstances, when i failed my exams for being seriously ill. Was not actually meant to be in the exams i passed out 11 time during one exam the Dean made me attend said it would be worse if i did not attend the exams he did not take the medical certificate as proof i was ill. I had to move on to a HND for computing and then move to doing computing part time as i could not afford not to work and then back to my original degree to finish. Because i moved courses so much it turns out i have 300 extra credits and if i do 3 more modules can get a second degree not sure what to do yet as my tutors inspired me to do a masters course where i have 3 modules left to do and a french degree where i have 2 modules left to do and i would have completed those but have had to deferr due to mounting debts. It does look like i have a problem completing things!!! On a non serious front Captain Kirk and Spock inspired my love for space and this has now turned into a major hobby. I have even turned the Hubble space telescope that was severly cool and really enjoyable. My pride and joy is the picture of Mars that I captured from the Hubble. Guest MojoPogo
Darkette inspires me. That girl has more testicular fortitude (right here....at TWO) than most guys i know. More people should be like her in my opinion. Darkie too, because he seems to be the unluckiest guy in the world, but keeps smiling through it, and also his hospitality is mighty good. Nimf and DC inspire me, because DC might very well make the greatest omelettes in history and is a simply fantastic father, and that is a huge plus, Nimf is just the coolest, in not only being simply awesome at being a mum, she also ends up being mum to about 14 other kids at any meet........pity about the lack of purple hair though! If anyone wants to make wise ass comments about me nominating friends, or bring up the whole "meet favouritism" thing, they can frankly, bite my hairy scottish ass. I could mention a whole bunch of famous people, but thought they have a bit of influence, how many people can say they have had a proper, positive effect on their actual lives? Not many i bet. The final person i'd nominate, is my Dad. A proper old skool, working class, hard ass of a man, with a heart far bigger than his 5ft 6in frame would suggest. No matter how many setbacks me and him have had, (sleeping rough together being a particular low point) he's always endeavoured to help in any way i need him, and brought me up to be the fine, upstanding (WTF??) gent i am today. I fully credit him with making me the person i am today. Now you know who to blame!
Nimf 324
Aww thanks Glitch! My inspirations seem to be family members: My step mum is amazing. She has been through a lot with losing my brother and sister and everything involved with my little brother's pregnancy and birth. When he had to have an operation she was so calm, so collected and so amazing. My step dad inspired me to go after my OWN dreams, he stood there in front of my mum and dad and told me to do what I felt was right. He gave me a lot of strength. DC's mum is one of the strongest, least selfish people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I hope I can turn around in 20 years time and categorically say that I would take on 3 young children. I doubt I would. There are others but i'll keep them to myself.
DC 536
As Nimf said, my mum has inspired me by her complete unselfishness in the face of a myriad of her own problems.

Guest Gemsi
Ug! Ooooo I have testicular fortitude! Elaborate if you will Mister Glitch, for I am inept at Englishness. I'm inspired by anyone who can get to grips with the English lanuage. I was born and bred in England, yet it still baffles me. I'm also inspired by Glitch and my mate Lisa, both make me laugh, and put an extra bounce in my step, when I'm around them. I want that talent, so I can always have the extra bounce. My inspiration right now is Emily Thackray. Forever to add positive spirit to everything. She has beaten the odds time and time again. Her poor mother and fiance and sisters have been given so many 'Emily's not going to make it' speech's it amazes me how she can stay so strong and positive. Emily has now had her transplant and has an extra dose of positivity to the gloomest of situations. It does make me think lots when I'm really down and can't pick myself up. Em's made it to the better side of the rainbow, so can I, if I keep strong (which is suprisingly a hard task). Alice Martineau, as mentioned in another post of mine, is another inspiration. Whilst waiting for a double lung, heart and liver transplant. She carried on with her singing carrier, and let nothing hold her back. I really struggle to push myself to the edge of my limits. It's like at my boundries there's loads of storm cloud's, and I don't want to be within 300ft of them incase aliens that have been buried for millions of years spring to life, and chase me. Both Emily and Alice can reach those boundaries, and even push themselves past them. I could never reach my full potential though, it's like I always stay a safe distance away. Guest Nicole
JJ, for many reasons I can't go into. It's more than just because he's my experson. He might be a little harsh on me, but he always inspires me to try harder and just to live a little.
Dead Crow 370
My Mom inspires me to want to be successful because I aspire to be able to give back to her all the things she's done for me over the years. I want to be able to look after her and eventually afford to be able to let her live her dream, whatever that may be. Chris Morris inspired me to be more creative and to question the media and all those who breathe within it. And my friend/ex Hayley inspired me to explore my creativity more (it's one thing to be creative, but it's another to put it down onto paper) and to be more happier with who I am and what I want to be. I don't know if I've ever told them that. But they have.
Guest Inno
My mum and dad; My dad bcause he put my family first ahead of everything, including his career - he turned down promotions within the Fire Service because of my mum's illness and promotions would have meant residential courses away from home for 9 weeks at a time. My mum for putting up with her illness and never giving in. And probably Gill. Even though we've split up, she totally changed me as a person for the better; made me more confident, gave me the push I needed to do a lot of things, gave me a son (although I had fun getting him :brows)

Red05 343
I don't really have any inspirations, people I look up to and want to be like. But, in the same boat as DraVen, i'd like to one day be able to repay my parents for all they've done for me. Not sure they've 'inspired' me as such though. Just, kinda...clothes, fed, housed and taught me. They made me from scratch...literally!

Guest Jimmy Redman
I agree with Ray in that nobody really inspires me. I dont do anything inspired, as such. But I admire my mother for being so gosh darn strong, living with a disability as well as raising two kids and being a housewife. Its hard putting up with my brother and I, as well as an alcoholic husband. On a different tack, one of my closest friends is basically what I would be like at 19 had I turned out a lot better. We're so alike in so many ways, and she is everywhere that I want to be in my life.

Guest Jimmy Redman
You've never noticed that DraVen always types in American English? Neither of you have noticed that 'mom' is really the only word he Americanises?
Guest Popsi
He's explained this before, think its *** where he's from his accent means that mum sounds like mom so he types it like that. Could be wrong but i'm sure it's something along those lines.

Dead Crow 370
Jesus Christ, it's one word and already we've hijacked the thread. If it really matters, it is my accent. I've always typed Mom because I've always called her that, as she did for hers. It's a Walsall thing, if not a Black Country thing (although a lot of my family use the term "mother", but I'm not that posh). It's also the only word I "americanise" in type format.
