Hi,

I've got a Praktica DCZ5.8 camera, and everytime I turn it on it turns itself straight back off, even though it has fresh batteries in. If it does allow me to turn it on, when I go to take a picture, it turns itself off again. I've only had the camera 2 months and I haven't done anything stupid with it. Any idea whats wrong?

It's the second set of batteries I've tried, and nothings working. I'll go swap one of them and see if it helps...Nope, same problem still.

Sucky. That was the only real answer I had. Sounds like your cameras just dying.

We did once have a problem with a camera, but it turned out it just wasn't closing properly as the lens was knocked out of place, so it couldn't wake itself up as it wasn't shutting down properly to begin with.

If it was me, I'd probably be smashing it against a wall by now. Probably not the best advice though.

Hope someone comes along soon with a better answer.

Probably for a charge. Screw taking it to a shop, they will rip you off. See what warranty you have in the box and send it back if possible.

Yeah, I agree with what Belty said, send it back. If it's only a couple of months old then it shouldnt be having problems and it should be covered by the guarantee.

If it's any help I used to have the same problem and after about 20 minutes of use after I just got mine it just cut off. Even when I tried new Duracells it would just cut off. So I bought some rechargables and haven't had the problem since, only set me back about £15 and they're great ones.

Theres a praktica freephone help number according to the box, so I'll ring them tomorrow and hopefully they'll tell me how to fix it, or I'll send it to be fixed.
