Guest Jimmy Redman
Yes, obviously a blatant rip off from the TNA thread. But with that, the release of Trinity and the Draft it does bear thinking about as well. Same deal, how many wrestlers each brand needs, who they are, and the structure of the cards of the brands. If TNA can make do with 20 wrestlers, ECW can only have 15 (they only have 19 as it is, made a smaller number to allow cuts). Raw and Smackdown can have 25 each. Only includes wrestlers, managers, Divas, and you cant switch anyone to another brand or bring anyone else in. Go! I'll do mine in a second. Dead Crow 370
So by your reckoning, Mickie James is the most over person on Raw. She did afterall get a monster reaction on one show...

Naitch 207
Does anyone get a reaction on ECW? The times I've watched it, the crowd all seems to be sitting on their hands. You could bring The Rock out next week and you could probably hear a cockroach fart in the cheap seats.

Guest FreeSpirit
The person I would get rid off first is The Sandman, then I'd give pink slips to Mike Knox and Shannon Moore as well. I just dont see what WWE can do with any of these three anymore.

Murph 93
I would keep everybody, and hire back everybody ever fired. Except CM Punk he can go to hell. Makes no sense at all, from a beneficial point of view to the company to release a superstar, in CM Punk, who is clearly a very taletned in-ring performer, and talented on the mic. He's clearly over, no shitty excuses like "it was in a smark city", he was over at Survivor Series, Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania, whether people like it or not. Guest dpddave
Couldn't agree more murph....some people just dont like him for the sake of not liking him..kinda like the hate cena used to get. And i know a lot of people are only buying the up coming PPV for the punk vs benoit match, myself included.
Dead Crow 370
A few smarks are only buying the PPV for Punk v Benoit, and they will be disappointed because it'll get little time, Benoit has become lazy lately, and Punk is the biggest overhype in modern wrestling history. It won't even be MOTN, guarentee. As for the benefits of releasing him, he's no more over than Scotty 2 Hotty and his worm were, except Scotty, underneath the jobber gimmick, was actually a pretty solid worker. So if Scotty can get released, Punk will be very little of a loss.

Anyone that says punk cant work is just in blind denial...anytime hes being booked in a big match in WWE hes delivered. He was the most over guy at Survivor Series, put in a hell of a showing in the Royal Rumble and did the same at wrestlemania. Most of his matchs in ECW have been decent even though hes only got 5 or 6 minutes, anytime hes gone longer the matchs have been very good. Hes hardly had a bad match since making his debut so im sure he would be a hell of a bigger lose than scotty to hotty and 90% of the other wretslers on ECW aswel... Dead Crow 370
Ye scotty was a solid worker...but punk is a hell of a lot better...take the time to watch the 5 stars matchs hes had. The Meltzer-rated 5-star matches? No offense to Meltzer; his knowledge is second to none when it comes to wrestling, but his opinions are frankly a load of crap. I've seen Joe/Punk matches and they were nothing more than good, IMO. Just overrated and overhyped, which is the story of CM Punk's career. He's an average worker who got lucky that Raven pretty much handpicked him to make a star out of - and my God did Raven ever pull the biggest starmaking job in history by making Punk look like a megastar. Anyone that says punk cant work is just in blind denial...anytime hes being booked in a big match in WWE hes delivered. No one has said Punk can't work. He obviously can. He's just not the second coming of Christ that everyone says he is. He's not a main event level worker because he's nowhere near the look/talent of guys like Michaels, Taker, Cena, HHH etc. He's got a good look for the upper midcard but isn't on the level of MVP, Johnny Nitro, Finlay, Benoit etc. And really, the only place he really fits is in the midcard with guys like Noble, Guerrero, Helms etc, all of whom I think are better than Punk is. Helms especially. I've said for ages now and I still believe it - the only thing that Punk has over Helms is hype. He was the most over guy at Survivor Series, put in a hell of a showing in the Royal Rumble and did the same at wrestlemania. He was over at SS. The most over? Rubbish. I've got that event, and his pop does not exceed that of Taker or Batista. Sure, he got a great reaction because WWE has done a fantastic job of building him up as someone to care about (far better than he deserves), but Batista gets great reactions and he's a terrible worker. Rumble he did nothing of note. Wrestlemania he took an RKO and that's pretty much the only good thing he did. Easily the most inferior guy in that match. Edge and Jeff did their crazy spot, Finlay and Matt are incredible workers who held it together, Booker and Orton provided the star power, Kennedy was the star being bloomed, and Punk kinda just got stuck in to make up the numbers because he can bump. Most of his matchs in ECW have been decent even though hes only got 5 or 6 minutes, anytime hes gone longer the matchs have been very good. Have they? I've seen no Punk match in the WWE that has been better than "ok", to be honest. Against good talent like Stevie Richards, of course he's gonna look good because he can hold his end of the bargain. Against more inferior guys, Punk is exposed because he can't pick up the slack. Hes hardly had a bad match since making his debut so im sure he would be a hell of a bigger lose than scotty to hotty and 90% of the other wretslers on ECW aswel... He'd be a loss for the fact that he's the only star that ECW has created since the rebirth. In terms of ability, I'd rather lose Punk over any of the guys that I named because I consider all of them to offer more than Punk does. Ok I threw in two useless women too, but they look hot so *shrug*.
