Hooray for more TNA desperation. How many concept matches do they need? And where the hell did this one come from? At least Ultimate X, Hell In A Cell etc all had a rhyme and reason. This one just smells of Russo-esque desperation.

Making a main event match with two people in a feud that people actually enjoy would be the normal option. But why do that when we can have EVEN MORE GIMMICKS~!

The July 15th TNA PPV, "Victory Road", will feature the main event of TNA Champion Kurt Angle and X-Division Champion Jay Lethal vs. Team 3D. The winner of the fall will win the championship of the person he pins.

Hmm....

Hmmm, before you start crying about this, WWE did before on one of the In Your House shows, something similar anyway.

I wasn't crying was I? I just said hmm... Yes I don't like the idea, I'll say it now. I didn't like the idea at In Your house 3. I can't see much coming out of it. I would have liked a Angle V Someone in the Main Event over this.

It seems TNA have forgotten WWF did it before too:

Da Meltz thinks that Joe will be involved.

The main event for TNA's Victory Road PPV on 7/15 looks to be something along the lines of Kurt Angle & Samoa Joe vs. Team 3-D with all the belts at stake. It may be announced as Jay Lethal and Angle as a team at first.

I can't remember back to IYH3 but they did it at Backlash 2001 with HHH and Austin vs Undertaker and Kane with the tag titles vs the WWF and IC titles.

I don't mind the idea, as (if done right) it can lead to an interesting situation. What I have a problem with is this.....
Cornette will introduce a "new concept" for the main event
How they can even begin to say it's a new concept when it's been done at least twice by their main competition, and it was first done in September of 1995, almost TWELVE YEARS AGO.

It's nearly as bad as having Scott Steiner say that Team 3D haven't beat anyone of note when the current (at the time) NWA Champion, the main figurehead of the company, was on one of those teams. They basically said that the NWA Champion, the supposed best wrestler in the organisation, was a pleb that nobody would know or remember today. It's not exactly the best way to promote your champion.

Isn't about time for a SWERVE? Like Brother Ray winning the World title or something?

You deserve to have your fingers burned in boiling edd juice for even suggesting that....

Spoilers:

Credit: pwinsider.com

Jim Cornette came to the ring and announced that there is no rest for the weary after Slammiversary as they are on the way to Victory Road. Cornette introduces all four TNA champion wrestlers and brings them up to the ring. He announces "The Match of Champions" will headline Victory Road with TNA champion Kurt Angle & X-Division champion Jay Lethal vs. TNA Tag Team champions Team 3D with all the titles on the line and the person getting the win capturing the championship of the person he defeats. If Team 3D is defeated, the person who pins them gets to pick his partner. Cornette then announced that over the next three weeks, all of the titles will be defended so if they are lost, the new champion would enter the match. Kurt Angle gets on the mic and asks where his celebration for winning the World title is. He begins giving an acceptance speech as champion. Cornette tells Angle that there is no celebration because he has to compete in the ring. He says that the hardest thing isn't getting the belt, but retaining it. Cornette announces Lethal vs. Samoa Joe vs. Chris Sabin later tonight. Joe comes out on one of the stages.

*James Storm & Robert Roode defeated Eric Young & Rhino after Storm pinned Rhino following Jackie Moore's interference. After the match, Rhino throws a beer bottle left in the ring at Storm, who is leaving. He shoves Young down and throws a tantrum, throwing chairs in the ring and attacking the announce table physically.

*A throne was set up by the heel entranceway, but whatever the purpose of it was, was not explained to the live crowd in Orlando.

*Chris Harris pinned Raven. Kaz was not with the rest of Serotonin when they came to the ring with Raven. When Havoc and Martyr interfered, Kaz came out, and got involved, clotheslining Raven, which led directly into the finish. On the screen from backstage, Christian Cage addresses Harris. Cage says that he's the type of guy that people want to wrestle so they can tell their grandchildren about it. He claims Harris cost him the title at Slammiversary and they'll meet in the ring sometime in the future. Cage stop as someone enters his locker room, the screen goes black with the idea that someone went after Cage backstage.

*Cage is thrown into the Impact Zone by Abyss. They brawl towards the ring. Abyss grabs a barbed wire baseball bat. Tomko and AJ Styles hit the ring for the save. They work over Abyss. Abyss makes a comeback, giving Tomko a big boot and Styles a clothesline, sending both out of the ring. In the midst of all that, Cage escaped and ran away.

*Samoa Joe defeated Chris Sabin & TNA X-Division champion Jay Lethal to win the X-Division title after pinning Sabin with the musclebuster. :Lethal went for the elbow but was shoved off by Sabin. Joe grabbed Sabin off the top and nailed the finisher. No sign of Sonjay Dutt or Kevin Nash.

*Jim Cornette announces next week Kurt Angle will defend against Rhino and Christian Cage.[/Quote]

I had a few issues with iMPACT this week. The Main Event being something like 3 minutes of action? It was good, but would have been great if given longer. I thought the opening promo with the Champs could have been a lot shorter thus giving the match more time. I like Raven, but lord he was so sloppy which really dragged the whole match down.

Rhino going nuts was awesome, plus it looks Banderas is coming :D

Ok, I watched the first segment of Impact and I can trully say that it looks like Kurt is going back to how he was as the Olimpic Gold Medalist when he arrived in WWE. And that my friends, it's true, and awesome at the same time.

Plus, Ricky Banderas is cooooomiiiingggg.:D

One thing I have to mention (I even managed to slip it in to my SmackDown report on wrestlingobserver.com) is Joe delivering the greatest chop ever on Jay Lethal.

Last night's edition of Impact scored a 1.2 cable rating, based on data compiled by Nielsen Media Research.

Highest rating so far...

Aye, but it's a steady increase and it wasn't a "special" show in any way, as in it wasn't built specifically to get a higher rating. So it's good for just a regular impact.

What happened to "a 0.2 increase is nothing to shout about"? Or does that only apply when it is WWE's ratings that increase by that amount?

Anyway, Bravo did it again. Sitting down at 10pm, all ready to watch the show, and I hear Don West wonder aloud who the fifth man for the KotM match will be. I think to myself "no, they can't do that...not again", only for the screen to switch to Jim Cornette racing around the halls to tell AJ, Joe and Angle that there is a meeting in Jim's office.

They've only went and showed last week's episode again. This seems to happen after every TNA PPV event, so it can't be a coincidence.

Nobody is really shouting about it, but it's a bigger rise in relation to what they had to begin with. Also matching the highest rating they've ever for no real reason shows how unimpressive the Raw rating was based on what brought it's rise.

who knows maybe the reason people watched TNA was because of the crap they've been seeing in WWE the past couple of weeks....
