As im eating my dinner consisting of a sandwich and crisps i thought up the idea of this most random of threads. The crisps i am eating are Cheese XL - i'd forgotten about them and havent had them in years, and it got me thinking, What other crisps have i forgotten about? ..

I remember these little hollow piglets they used to sell when I was a kid about 20 odd years ago, and also ones that were like hollow light bulbs. Awesome! How about the original Monster Munch which came with a blue monster and a star on his at which were sizzling bacon flavour, they were yum!

Mens health ran a top 20 crisps thread and the original moster munch came number 1 Belty. Discos were in there somewhere as well Ray.

Ray do you remember when disco`s came with a little sachet of stuff in them that you could pour over the crisps for extra flavor? that was awesome....

Chipsticks! I loved Chipsticks, you still get them, but the bags are much smaller than they used to be. Also, Meanies? Anyone remember them? Pickled onion flavour goodness......

Ah man it's really annoying that I can't remember the crisps I had as a kid, i'm sitting here trying to remember but can't get the name in my head. Not your common crisps anyway. I used to love Razzles which were bacon rasher crispy type things.

 

Is it just me or does anyone miss the Pogs you used to get in Walkers crisps? They were awesome.

 

I don't really eat crisps anymore though, I haven't had a pack in months.

I had two packets of them the other day one cheese & onion and one salt & vinegar they are lovely apart from the fact you get about 8 crisps in each bag.

 

And Reno the name of those alien crisps you are talking about is Space Invaders. And I have had Transformer crisps not so long ago as well.

You can still get them. Co-op sells the 20p packet at the moment, and I usually by two or three packets when I'm in the mood.

 

My fave crisps from my youth were Quarterbacks (American Cheeseburger flavour). They were shaped like little men and tasted great.

Not strictly crisps, but when I was a kid I used to get these biscuity type snacks in a newspaper design pack called "fish n chips" or something. They were salt and vinegar flavour. They were shaped like little fish and chips.

I haven't seen them for a couple of months but I'm pretty sure they still make them. You've just got to look hard. Real hard. None of that window shopping crap. You've got to venture into shops you've never been before to find these sods. I last saw them at a cash and carry.

Tomato Snaps and Pom Bears also were good. My favourite thing i remember is that as oppose to Walkers Crisps, ALDI sold "Sprinters". Classic.
