Anyone heard anything about WWE and Silversion maybe releasing WCW Dvd's or know of any reason why they haven't?

 

Only ever seen WCW on compilation DVD's i'd love them to bring out a tag classic or even a few best of DVD's

They show lots of WCW on WWE 24/7 I think, but that's no use to us of course.

 

WWE 24/7 is a great idea potentially, it's just a bit ahead of it's time. Personally wrestling is the one thing that i can't watch in crappy quailty, which for me means either watching it on DVDs or spending hours downloading or streaming a good quality one.

 

But i think once a rediculously high broadband speed becomes the norm and they start integrating internet in television (which seems the next logical step forward after arial, satelite and cable) it'll be a must have thing.

It would make sense for them to at least do some best of WCW DVD'S. Probably not full PPV's cause thats a big back catalogue and lot of crap shows.

 

But best of compilations would be dead easy, and if they just did it in volumes, I could see it doing well.

I'm not really familiar with WCW, only watching bits of shows and matches so i'd love to see a DVD similar to the Rise and Fall of ECW, no doubt it would sell amazingly.

 

Does anyone know what DVD's are currently in the works? I read the other day that a Ricky Steamboat one was being made, a Mr Perfect one and The Rock one. Are there any more currently in the works?

They were planning on releasing a kind of rise and fall of WCW like they did for ECW which was going to be released in spring 08 but since that annoncement have not heard anything about it since so this Vince must have dropped it.

There's a Stone Cold 3 DVD Set much like The Undertaker's which will have some really old school stuff on it or so I've heard anyway. Mr Prefect's is all but confirmed, I currently have a Mr. Prefect DVD which isn't all that good surprisingly.

Yeah Stone Colds should be out end of September along with a Mysterio DVD.

Stone Cold Steve Austin’s Life and Legacy DVD (3 Discs), The Triumph & Tragedy of WCCW DVD, and Rey Mysterio: The Biggest Little Man DVD all coming out this year

Yeah i've checked the info about the Stone Cold one and it looks to be great, possibly one of the best.

 

To add to that, a John Cena DVD is coming out this year aswell.

I have all the best ofs released by Warner, they suck though. 2 hours really with Mean Gene presenting. I would go insane for some full show releases of the old tapes from 88-94 since the ones I have are 2 hour versions of sometimes 4 hour ppv's. Some matches are missing.

 

Tagged classics of the old NWA stuff would be awesome, only problem is that they would destroy the last 2 years of WWE ppv's for quality. Embarrassing for WWE you see?

Some of the old NWA/WCW stuff is embarrasing too you know. It wasn't all a one-way street in regards to show quality. Anyway, Wrestlemania this year, last year and the year before that all shone, as did the first two One Night Stand PPVs, and some of the other single branded ones.

 

Besides, the 'Chamber of Horrors' match is all that needs to be brought up to bring ridicule to the NWA/WCW PPV releases. WWE may have had the 'Kennel from Hell', but IMO the 'CoH' pisses all over it for crappiness.

 

I may have got the wrong end of the stick though, and you actually mean the non-PPV NWA stuff that was before WCW even began.
