USA: Sunday 17th June on PPV at 8/7c-LIVE ($29.95)

UK: Wednesday 20th June on Bravo 2 at 9pm

 

TNA Slammiversary 2007 is an upcoming professional wrestling pay-per-view event produced by Total Nonstop Action Wrestling.

 

It will take place on Sunday 17th June 2007 at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee. It will mark the fifth anniversary of the promotion, and will also be TNA's first televised event in the state of Tennessee since the end of their weekly pay-per-view events in September 2004.

 

Promotional items feature Jeff Jarrett and are based on the poster of Walk the Line. The tagline is Massacre in Music City![/Quote]

*TNA World Heavyweight Championship (Vacated) - King Of The Mountain Match:

Kurt Angle vs. Samoa Joe vs. A.J. Styles vs. Christian Cage vs. TBD

 

*TNA World Tag Team Championship:

Team 3D (Brother Ray and Brother Devon) (Champions) vs. The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott)

 

*TNA X Division Championship:

Chris Sabin (Champion) vs. Jay Lethal

 

*Mr. Backlund vs. Alex Shelley

 

*Frank Wycheck vs. James Storm

 

*Eric Young vs. Robert Roode (with Ms Brooks)

NOTE: If Robert Roode wins, Young gets fired. If Eric Young wins, he is free from his contract under Roode[/Quote]

- Former Tennessee Titans and NFL all-pro tight end Frank Wycheck appeared

at the TNA Slammiversary press conference yesterday and will also be

appearing on the pay-per-view facing 'Tennessee Cowboy' James Storm. Storm

spat beer in Wycheck's face but the former Titan - with the help from Jeff

Jarrett - delivered a guitar shot to Storm for his trouble. Footage of the

altercation will be airing on SpikeTV this Thursday on iMPACT!

he's very famous in the Tennesse area due to his Titan's days, so it's propably there to get more ticket sales

TNA have done it again. Bringing in a celeb to wrestle but alienates people outside or America and people who don't watch NFL. I think everyone knows who Kevin Federline is and people who WCW bought in like James Brown and David Arquette were more well known names than this guy!

Scott Steiner was scheduled to undergo surgery on his trachea today in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Steiner was injured yesterday in taking a kick to the throat from Apolo in a tag team match where Steiner & Robert Roode faced Jeff Jarrett & Apolo. He seemed fine after the match, but at 2 a.m., was having trouble breathing and was rushed to the hospital.

 

There was no estimate until after surgery is completed regarding how long Steiner would be out of action, but the preliminary word was that he's not expected back in the ring for a while.

 

Steiner had just started teaming with brother Rick for a few matches against Team 3-D, including at the 6/17 Slammiversary PPV.

 

Looks like Steiners vs. Dudleys is off then.

With Steiner out, the show is going to suck.

 

The only good matches left are the King of the Mountain (which will be good by default) and the X-Division title match which has no meaning at all.

 

What's left? Backlund/Shelly for no reason other than to be rubbish. The heat has gone from that fued if there was any in the first place. I'll be hugely surprised if Backlund can have a good match in 2007. Roode/Young will be no more than average. Please for the love of God make it James Storm vs Chris Harris with the football guy in his corner.

 

Also, I can still go on Ticketmaster and get fourth row seats and the show is in a week.

Steiner is getting replaced, not sure who but I bet it'll be someone random with no connect to the Steiners or Team 3D(Or I could be wrong and they bring in Buff Bagwell :roll)

They could easily get Harris out of the likely tag match with him and Rhino vs LAX. Then they could have LAX vs 3D. Played out but they could still have a good brawl.

Its Victory Road 06 all over again, stuck in between that awkward phase of old storylines ending and new ones beginning. Unfortunatly this years one is taking place on one of the biggest PPVs of the year!

I know its a dark match and all but this is the the most random match ever! Much like the Tag Match with the other Baseball player having Lynn/Killings in it for no reason. Isn't Killings a face?

I'm only really interested in the King of the Mountain here, which should automatically be good. I'm interested to see who'll take the belt aswell, I think it'll be Angle, but I'd much prefer it to be Christian.

 

Daniels/Sting could be good, although the feud hasn't got me that excited.

 

Young/Roode should be innofensive, if not compelling. I quite like both guys and for me it's the best built match here.

 

Sabin/Lethal won't be anything other than very good, but it's a shame on the 5 year anniversary show that the X-Division title match isn't much more high profile and hyped.

 

Nothing else on the card stands out really, which is dissapointing seeing as it's arguably their biggest show to date.

There is part of me that wants Joe to win because it's damn time already, but then there is another part of me that wants them to save his win for a big one on one match at Bound For Glory.
