Anyone know when it starts?

I'd say we have a fairly decent squad of players, bit like the full side. Guys like Bentley, Lita, Derbyshire, Baines, Carson, Vaughan, Huddlestone, Young, Reo-Coker all have potential, question is can we get it together.

Thoughts, and I presume live coverage will be on Sky?

I look forward to seeing the Dutch and Portuguese and I thought the Italians looked a good side at Wembley. Managed by Casiraghi are they not?

The rest are a bit unknown to me though.

Btw if England reach the semis, there has to be a playoff between the 2 3rd place teams, as the the teams in the semi qualify for the Olympics, and England cannot qualify.

Yeh Casiraghi is the mister, The azzurini are most succesful with 5 wins but Holland are holders (thus they host it) I would pick Holland and Portugal to go through from Pot A but in Pot B it could be anyone really

Why don't we compete in the Olympics?

If England qualify for the semi-finals, a play-off is necessary to decide places for the 2008 Olympic Games. It will take place on 21 June in Nijmegen.

The top four nations will qualify automatically for the Olympic football tournament, but England cannot, due to the complexity of their membership of Great Britain. Therefore, if England are one of the top four teams, a playoff between the two third-placed teams in each group will be held to determine the 5th best nation.

Yeah, there is no England Olympic side. The whole GB football team in the Olympics always crops up and I never understand why it would because it is an absolute non-starter. The Football Associations would be very reluctant to commit to it because they feel if they do then FIFA/UEFA will question the need to have seperate Football Associations.

I'll hopefully catch a few of these games because it's always interesting seeing if someone can make a bit of a name for themselves. In a way I'm irked that Stuart Pearce is coaching England because I've a soft spot for him and it is obviously very wrong to have a soft spot for an England coach! :)

I'm looking forward to this tournament. It'll be interesting to see how the likes of Taylor, Milner, Baines, Bentley etc. all perform on a big stage such as this...

I belive that Sky have the ights to broadcast the England games but the majority of the tornamant will be on Eurosport.

I think it's a case of each national federation being able to sell the rights to their own team.

Gabby was supposed to be in the English squad, but he went AWOL. Suits us, he definitely needs a long break.
