I hate the joint pay per views only because Cena always main events and it kind of makes the world heavyweight title and the ECW title kind of less important which sucks. Edited by Paul

I like them and considering that Cena is the best champ of the three (just above Edge) it seems right for him to be main eventing and considering he is having the best match of the night on every card then he has a right to be there!

I think its good that the PPVs have reverted back to being joint PPVs, but I'm also happy that the three brands are still seperated for their respective weekly shows.

I don't really like them. It means every brand has 4 shows and 1 PPV a month, meaning we're either gonna get alot of the same matches, or hardly any build up to the match, like back when In Your House was introduced, prior to Smackdowns debut and WWE only having 4 raws to build it up on.

Maybe Cena main events because he's the WWE's biggest draw at this point in time?

And also because he's been having main events that range from ok to very good since January of this year when the tri-branded PPV's started off (not including NYR).

i think they are aight. Its better to see talent from all 3 brands in one show, rather than just single branded ppvs.

I think they have both good and bad points....the quailty of the matchs have been a lot better.

But it means that a fued which normally would last around 3months spread over 3 PPVs is now finished after about 8 or 9 weeks and feels a lot more rushed.

Just look at Edge and Batista they"ve only been fueding 3/4 weeks and ONS will be there second PPV match.

I'm not a big fan of them since like has been said the amount of matches mid carders get alot less chances to shine and we get the same people wrestling eachother on most PPV's

Its not helping buy rates either, they have been at the same level as single brands or even dropped a little from last year so it seems that having Cena main event each of them and filling them with the same 'big' matches every month is not working too well

Source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

The number hasn't officially come out yet (it will in about two weeks), but company sources are saying that there was "significant disappointment" in the buyrate for last month's Backlash pay-per-view. Considering that it was promoted as a three-brand show, they were expecting a lot more buys than whatever number they got.

Buyrates of Backlash for Sky Sports were higher than expected and also higher than last years PPV by some margin...that I know for a fact....

I wouldn't blame Anyone other that the Wrestling business included with MMA itself for the poor buy-rate. there's just way to many Wrestling or MMA PPVs out there in one month. Look at April:

WWE = 2

TNA= 1

UFC = 2

Thats about $250 give or take, thats without trying to catch up with the load of shows going on, as you want to know why these matches are happening. There's too much out there even if you dodge MMA. June and July will be horrible for Buy-Rates I predict.

THB, I think WWE would be better off "reserving the right" to make cross brand matches at all PPV's but most matches are still from 1 brand. That way mid-carders still get to PPV's. But the top guys will all want to be on every one since they get PPV bonuses.

It seems to just effect wrestling mostly the amount of PPV's, UFC keep on doing either as expected or better then expected buys and destroying Pro Wrestling PPV numbers while WWE and TNA are doing less then expected and in most TNA and some WWE cases worse then a year ago

That's due to the boom in MMA as a whole. I do believe each PPV is something like $50 a pop. They tend to run 2 a month, and its financially hard to keep up with all the stuff and with the boom in MMA mainly UFC people will buy that over wrestling as its the in thing.

Exactly and while its happening you won't hear any Dana White or any other UFC top brass complaining, they can charge more and are still able to get more people to watch, its not their problem if WWE and TNA buys rates are suffering because of it

What is happening is people now have to choose what to watch every month as like was just said in the quote people can't afford them all and the majority are saving for the MMA PPV's and to be honest I cnat see that changing anytime soon unless WWE really does something very special on PPV to make people want to see them

I actually meant the viewing ratings, I though that would have been understood....

But my apologies that itw wasnt...the 'viewing ratings' were higher...and in fact higher than Judgement Day, which was down on buyrates and 'viewing ratings'

I guess its quality of matches...not who appears from looking at this...
