I am a fan of hockey. I love it to death. It is one of the greatest sports on the planet. Are there any other ice hockey fans here? I am a great conversationalist on it - I've been a fan/player my whole life - I am a goalie on my teams that I play for.

Boring as hell with fixed fights..nothing spectacular. Although the Belfast Giants were pretty big when it first hit over here in Belfast.

I can watch the Stanley Cup matches but I'm not a regular follower. I guess my team is the San Jose sharks as I always used to play them on NHL 94 :)

King - yes, it had Patrick Swayze in it, but also had Rob Lowe and Keanu Reeves (who is a great goalie before he went into acting.)

 

Jono - some fights are fixed, some really do happen.

 

Big Slow - Chicago is an alright team. Pittsburgh has a good team and should do well. Their star player Sidney Crosby was born and raised about 5 minutes away from where I live. He's a great guy and a phenomenal, solid, smart player.

I really got into it when NHL 07 came out for the 360 but it's really hard to follow in the uk as you only get to see one match a week and that's on at 1.30 in the morning. The team I play as on NHL 07 is Calgary Flames even tho there sucked for most of this year.

Hey Luke3D, I'm glad to see your a fan. That really does suck that you only get 1 game a week? I'd lose my mind.

 

As far as the Calgary Flames go,..hey it's only the start of the season. They have a slight winning record so far after 17 games. Mikka Kipprusoff is one of the best goalies in the NHL, and Iginla and the addition of Alex Tanguay (a good guy, met him a couple times) are great. They will hit their stride soon to take their team on.

I don't follow it too well, but i've seen videos on Youtube of that guy who got his thoat slit by a blade, and it was his main artery in his neck so he started gushing blood out everywhere.... :eek

Also, can you explain to me the rules or lack of rules when it comes to the players fighting. Are they allowed to do it?
