This game has the makings of a classic. Good start from West Ham in all fairness but poor goals for Liverpool to concede. Crouch didn't look offside and 10 secs before Cisse scored I got great odds on Liverpool to win!

 

2-1 after 32 mins, this game is going to be a cracker!

What a cup final! Pepe was villain turned hero for us. Major plaudits for West Ham though, a really really good performance from them.

I just saw Steven Gerrard win the FA Cup, all the otehr liverpool players should give him theri medals because he's the only one who deserved it, Pepe did ok but West Ham deserved it, they were friggin awsome, it was just the one player that one it and proved Liverpool are a one trick pony

Sissoko, Riise and Morientes all made decent contributions. Kromkamp was superb after coming off the bench and Reina redeemed himself even before the penalty shoot out. Even Cisse had a pretty good game before his injuries took hold

 

At the end of the day the old adage applies - winning when playing badly, we did not play at all that well today but still managed to get a result. Let's not forget that's something like 11 straight wins for Liverpool so the team is obviously not that bad :xyx

i never said the team was bad, but today they were

 

Sissoko didn't do much, Morientes wasn't even in the game, Riise wasn't himself and Cisse did ok, but again had a poor game

 

all i'm saying is that without gerrard it would have been 3-0 :P

Gerrard was magnificent for Liverpool today, and the team did rely on him a lot i thought. But he showed he was more than capable of leading the team like that, as he has shown int he past. Very very unlucky for West Ham, especially at the end in what was the final shot on goal.

 

And as a side note, can i just add, if Crouch is the only striker England have (other than Walcott but he's untested) then i really do fear for them int he World Cup. Except for a couple of chances he was practically non-existent the whole game.

What A bloody Final!!! Is was worth ever monute of the 90 minutes. I feel the extrat-mie ruined the whole match really, it wasn't a good extra-time, bar Reina's save!

West Ham should have won, Benayoun, Etherington and Ashton were outstanding, Liverpool had one stand out player and he made the difference again. As soon as it went to penalties I knew Liverpool would win, have they ever lost a shoot out?
