Guest The B-Man
Kevin Nash to return as a heel after his ridiculous segment on Impact this week??? He claimed to have spiked merchandise during his role as WWF Champion.
Guest MrFill
Oh good, more of Big Limpy - maybe he can injure himself before he even gets to the ramp, save us having to see him. :P And he's recorded as being one of the worst (if not THE worst) drawing champions in WWF history, so how could he "spike" merchandise sales? DC 536
To be fair to Nash, I don't think many people could have drawn in that era.........Nash was a decent wrestler for his size and could cut a very good promo, serious or funny.....he was just there at the wrong time. But he really needs to go away now......Big Sexy was 10 YEARS AGO.......... ***And I bought some Diesel merch back in the day.....a pair of his gloves, which I wore to the ring last Sunday for my match in LWL.....I channelled the spirit of the former WWF & WCW Champion......still lost though, lol. Chris2K 176
I actually thought Impact was the best I'd seen, excluding the Sting/Jarrett borefest. Nash's interview was definitely a strong point, his self-delusion is just brilliant.
Guest Danny Styles
the promo is funny though because he has that sarcastic twinge that makes it humours because it's so full of bull

He was just joking around... The segment was awesome actually, and the only thing on the show that I personally enjoyed. Nash actually had a hand-drawn graph which made it look like he drew more than Austin/Hogan in WWF(!) However, Tenay and West did a very good job of spoiling things immediately afterwards, by saying patronising things and acting like goofs... TNA really need to add a heel announcer to the desk IMO, to mock Tenay/West a little. TNA will certainly struggle to be perceived as 'cool' whilst those two morons are relied upon to 'sell' the product to viewers at home. Guest The B-Man
I found this quote rather funny as well - "I think the X Division's got some good little guys, go out there and give you a good little match. You know, I mean, it's basically filler"

TNA will certainly struggle to be perceived as 'cool' whilst those two morons are relied upon to 'sell' the product to viewers at home. I thought what Tenay and West did was exactly what the angle needed though. They needed to portray Nash as an egomaniac, with masses of self-delusion. Thus if they hadn't have pointed out all these innaccuracies he made, it would have just come across as any other Nash promo, not sure if he's heel or face, and just spouting typical wrestler promo garbage. Makes the character a bit more creative, and I think its a little fresher, having an admitted stale character living off supposed past laurels, yet everyone realising he was never as great as he says he was. Nash's natural cockiness can probably carry it off. I'll certainly give it a try at least.
Guest Cartrouble kid
^^^ I can sort of see what you're saying, but it doesn't change how I feel about Tenay/West. I thought what Tenay and West did was exactly what the angle needed though. They needed to portray Nash as an egomaniac, with masses of self-delusion. Arguably so, I guess (although I think Nash's egomania is/was pretty obvious personally) but Tenay and West both have annoying voices and sound patronising IMO. There was no need to be so 'on-the-nose' about it all... it detracts from the whole thing. All I was basically saying though, was that the interview segment with Shelley/Nash was pretty cool/enjoyable, but the overall effect was spoilt by cutting back to Tenay/West... As I said before, they're both extremely 'goody goody' and it makes me wince when they both get animated about something and strongly agree with each other etc... If there was a heel guy with them (someone who could have agreed with Nash's points in a tongue-in-cheek way) then it would have probably worked a lot better. I certainly don't think it helps TNA having two annoying people fronting the show... By comparison, Ross & Lawler would be able to react to a segment like that without trampling all over it and/or making me cringe.
Nightfox 11
TNA is really moving up now IMO and is a fantastic show, bring on Nash, more recognisable names will do TNA good I think, as long as he dont screw up.

Guest Danny Styles
apparently plans are that AJ is going to feud with Nash so AJ will be flying all around the ring, bumping to make Nash look good while Nash will hit his signature stuff and then go away probably Summerslam 2005 HBK vs Hogan anybody? Guest DanielFullard
TNA is really moving up now . :lol And Nash is the way to do this? For the millionith time TNA will not move forward by signing has-beens and WWE rejects. Thats a petty thing to say but its ture. I want to see TNA suceed as much as the next fan but to be honest saying that signing NAsh is "moving up" is laughable
Nightfox 11
I dont think Nash is the way to go no, however a recognisable name always helps, friends of mine in reality had never heard of TNA, when I told them about it, they showed no interest at all, I then mentioned Sting was coming to TNA, now they all watch it every week religiously, Sting isn't the best thing in wrestling right now (maybe close a few years ago though) however hes drawing in viewers due to people knowing who he is, many people still dont know who AJ Styles is or Samoa Joe unless your an "Internet" viewer or follow the sport like most of us lot do. I think AJ Styles is an amazing athlete, and far better than Nash, however more people will recognise Deisel, or Nash and he could bring more popularity to TNA in that way, which I think is good. Even if he sucks (which he does) by then people will have spotted other stars like Chris Daniels, Petey Williams, Jay Lethal, Joe, and realise how good they are, and resume watching. Scott Steiner sucks, but I think having him there helps, he's an old school familiar name to wrestling, same with Berg should he debut. Same reason having Christy Hemme there is good, people know who she is.
Guest Sav
It's not the best of moves signing him up and a feud with AJ Styles could get messy. Then again, the Rey Mysterio vs Nash matches were pretty damn good considering, of course, Rey Mysterio is a much better wrestler than AJ so we'd just have to see what happens. I should mention that I found the interview with Nash was brilliant stuff, I look forward to the next part.
Guest horsemansmiler
Kevin Nash turning heel?! This might actually be a reason to watch the garbage that is TNA now. i think TNA is far from garbage!!! Just because it dosnt have a samoan running round with fake face tattoes doing a heart punch dosnt make it garbage. I like the promo it got a laugh out of me. You do of course know that Ooooooomaga's face paint has never been refered to or made out to be tattoos and he doesn't even use a heart punch, right? I have no opinion on the actual theme of the thread, but I wanted to use this time to be a smart ass.
Guest horsemansmiler
time well used ;) (joke) no i just dont like people trashin TNA as garbage when there is much worse stuff happening in wrestling and most of it is in wwe

Guest Craig
nash's interview was quite funny i feel bad for those that actually took it seriously Are you saying we shouldn't have taken it seriously? Not only did he say he drew more money than Hogan, Austin, and Rock, but THE MAN HAD CHARTS. He had charts. CHARTS. Charts don't lie, therefore we must believe him. And it was a great interview until Mike Tenay and that tool Don West said everything Nash said was bullshit. HAHAHAHAHA. Like Kevin Nash would lie about how much money he drew or anything else. Gosh, they must not know you do NOT underestimate the power of the charts.
