Guest Nemesis Enforcer
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that the decision is final, and John Cena vs. RVD will be the main event for the ECW One Night Stand PPV this year. WWE will likely be using this opportunity to finally turn Cena heel, after getting booed by fans for months. There you go, so looks like it could happen finally :D
Guest Proudy
Im looking for a RVD win, even though I aint watching much WWE at the moment, it'll probaly make alot of people happy.
Guest Drake
Well now that Cena seems to be the clear oponnent of RVD, I'm not too sure that RVD will walk out of ONS with the WWE Championship. If Vince is looking to solidify Cena as a heel at ONS, then I can see Cenna retaining the WWE title at ONS. Man I would love that to happen just to see the ECW fans faces. :D
Guest FreeSpirit
Cena Or JBL would have been the perfect choice IMO, as either way the ECW Fans would have booed them out of the building.
Guest Y2James
I fear for John Cenas safety if he walks out champion. I feel the ECW fans will start a riot. Thinking about it I dont care about John Cenas safety.
Guest Jack
This match will be horrendous. Rob van Dam needs someone to lead him, as aside to his usual spots, like the Rolling Thunder, or spinning legdrop and so on, he is horrible. John Cena can't carry anyone, but is going to need to be the dominant factor in this match, as Cena is the more talented wrestler, without a doubt. It will no doubt be enjoyable due to the crowd, but the match itself will be a pathetic main event. It should go about 3 minutes. Have all men do their signature moves, and end it quick, but as it is the main event, it's going to have to go on top of some great matches I'm sure, and will need to be over 10 minutes. Hopefully it will be a hardcore, or no DQ match. That is the only possible way to save it. If it is straight up singles, it will be a possible 'Worst Match Of The Year'. I would love to see Cena kick out from a 5 Star Frog Splash at one, then hit the FU - Prefferably onto a 12 inch rusty nail, and then get the pin. That would be entertaining, AND hardcore. Paul 584
jack........an ECW match is ALWAYS no DQ (unless Fonzie is ref ;)). And RVD back in ECW didnt need leading, lets hope he can bring that back.
Guest Jack
jack........an ECW match is ALWAYS no DQ (unless Fonzie is ref ;)). Yeah, sorry, I got mixed up there. I was thinking of another variation of a hardcore match, and No DQ popped into my head first, but you're right, as usual.
Guest DOB
Cena is going to get eaten alive by the ECW faithful. Have to agree with Jack this will probably be a horrendous match if it's kept in the ring, although if it's booked as a spot-laden,double juice, garbage match then there might be some hope. Guest MrFill
Here's how I see the match going: 5 minutes or so of some work, lots of signature spots, then to protect Cena (so he's not eaten alive by the ECW fans) a lot of the WWE stars run into the ring - this is followed by the ECW "roster" running to the ring and beating back the WWE wrestlers. This starts the whole ECW kick and protects Cena from having to beat/be beaten by RVD.

Sorry Fill but I just can't see that happening, it would be a travesty IMO to end such a Main Event with the potential to be great like that. Guest Boyo
Jack probably made the most realistic point regarding the match, and how it could turn out like. Personally, I don't think it will be terrible, it will be a hardcore spot-fest, with sig moves and lots of punches and kicks being traded. However, there's no way RVD is winning the belt, in my opinion. Like Jack said, I think they will have him kick out of a 5* Frog Splash and make RVD tap to the STFU, a move the fans dislike even more than the FU. Imagine RVD tapping to Cena in an ECW arena...:lol Cheers!
Guest Twig
The ECW fans of today aren't the same crazy b***ards they were 10 years ago. Nowadays they're mostly mostly guys who were kids and WWF faithful back in the attitude era, but have watched old ECW tapes religiously since the attitude's passing. If Cena wins, there will be much booing, but nobodies gonna do shi'ite.
Guest The Great Ahmar
I didn't think Cena will turn Heel, Vince likes to have to money from his merchandise coming in and in recent weeks to boos have died down. If it is Cena V RVD the match wouldn't be great and there would be lots of interference like the last ECW ONS Main-event. I would mark for many things in that match, like The crowd booing the holy hell out of Cena, Cena kicking out of the 5*, RVD winning. Then the Crowd would go bananas in joy. If Cena wins believe me it would be a riot. But what ever the main-event i'm looking forward to ONS.
Guest Jung
Plus if RVD wins, and he stays with ECW, then what happens? Personally I'd have the match starting, then just before it starts Vinnie Mac coming out and saying he's not having one of "his stars" risk his life and his belt in this crappy promotion. Thus its non-title. This brings out Paul Heyman, to do his usual angry protest promo, and says to Vince he thought this might happen, so he drew up a small print in the contract saying this match was a title match, and Heyman says it will be a title match, except for the vacant ECW World Title. Means everyone's happy, they go have a spot-fest hardcore match, which I think won't be anywhere near as bad as some in this thread are making out, and RVD can pin Cena, and go defend it in ECW, and Cena doesn't lose anything. Murph 93
Now that I wouldn't mind, although from the minute it becomes ECW Title Match, it's blatantly obvious who will win.
Guest Jung
Yeah but surely the same would apply if its a WWE Title match, and everyone knows that ECW is coming back as a brand, thus RVD won't be on WWE TV?
