Guest Mr Kennedy
Now then Everyone, how are you all?? Haven't posted in a while.. So I thought i'd have a bit of a rant as I usually do when I pop online..Today readers ;), I think i'll have a talk about a few of the newer 'entertainers' No thats not right, what was it Joey? 'Professional Wrestlers'. thats right. I'll look at a few of the people who I think are the ones to look out for in the near future.. Mr Kennedy (Obviously): Fantastic on the mic, still a little been green in the ring, but he has so much charisma and a gimmick that will take him far. Who else can't wait for his return!? As he said on an OVW show last year, Vinny likes him so much, he gave him his middle name. (Genuis). Ken Doane: So much talent at only 20 year old, and to think his prime is a good 10 years away. I can't see him staying with the spirit squad for much longer, Singles star by the end of the year is my prediction. Champion by the times he's 23. Johnny Jeter: Has the potential to be a upper mid carder at the very least, I can see him staying in a tag team for a while however. His flying roundhouse kick is a sight to behold. Brent Albright ( aka. Gunner Scott, although his although Albright is much a much better ring name imo): I think it is a super idea for him and Mr Beniot to tag for a while, I really like the idea of the apprentice and the master, plus they both have so many similarities already it is a ready made tag team. The Tag division on Smackdown is rapidly improving as well, Beniot and Albright will only help it. London and Kendrick: Fantastic team, Fantastic Talent, Kendrick is one of the best sellers in the bussiness, as well as London who is one of the best cruisers, They are getting the push they deserve at the moment, I predcit, they win the tag titles before or at Judgement Day. I'm hoping Duece and Domino from OVW get brought up to add to the tag division on Smackdown. MNM: If they stay as a team, I belieive that they have the ability and charisma to become the next mainstay tag team of the WWE. Finally CM Punk: When, When, When will they bring him up to the main roster, I believe there is a ready made fued with Edge (Cutting Edge vs Straight Edge-Splendid) for him to debut with. If the Creative team don't give him a stupid gimmick and he is used correctly, he will attract alot of the ROH fans from TNA, and maybe even some TNA fans, I just get the feeling Vince was waiting for TNA to start rolling, suddenly were seeig the rebirth of ECW, (whats the betting it gets a Thursday night slot?), I think we'll CM Punk before the end of the year. Or is that blind optimism? Oh and I hope he keeps his AFI - Miseria Cantare, entrance music. My question to you as I'm interested to know opinions. "Have the WWE Creative team been in a lull the past few years because they ran out of ideas? Or have they had a long term plan (which we may be starting to see) of slowly introducing new talent and totally reshaping the rosters over a period of the few years?" As always, feel free to agree or disagree.

As always, feel free to agree or disagree You know what Mr Kennedy? You might actually be onto something there, as you say, you simply CANNOT change pretty much an entire roster of ageing, but firmly established, well loved stars all at once, its just too risky, but at the same time, when trying to establish plausible "gimmicks" its only natural people are going to make mistakes.....after all, even the likes of Stone Cold have had gimmicks that really sucked. It would explain, some, but definitely not all, of the writing mistakes of the last couple of years. Well, that and sheer complacency. Its not a solution, even is it 100% accurate, and inevitably people have their own opinions, but i have to say, thats a really really good point. Nice one!...........KENNEDY! (Sorry, couldnt resist it.....)

Guest horsemansmiler
agree with everyone mentioned. Would love to see cm punk on raw and he would work awesome with edge. Its whether wwe see that. he has been in OVW for ages and for me his ring work didnt need that much work. He has had some awesome ROH matches and i thought he would fit in great on raw maybe the IC scene who knows maybe more. They need to give him a chance to get over and that dusnt include being a mob guy at WM 22 for cena
Guest Hemme
Good stuff mate, & I agree with most of it, except this--- Finally CM Punk: When, When, When will they bring him up to the main roster, I believe there is a ready made fued with Edge (Cutting Edge vs Straight Edge-Splendid) for him to debut with. Or is that blind optimism? Oh and I hope he keeps his AFI - Miseria Cantare, entrance music. Now first of all let me say I like Punk he's a little overated in my eyes, but he's solid enough. However I think most Punk fans are expecting maybe a little too much with his WWE career. First of all is his gimmick, I seriously don't believe the WWE can or will push the straight edge gimmick, it's a good one really, but with so many drug related deaths within wrestling Punk going around calling himself "drug free" is going to make the rest of the roster seem like their not, which can't happen. Secondly his size, look & style. For the indies it's great, no question. But for the WWE it's nothing more than average, which the WWE seem to realise is not a sure fire way to the top of the card. His wrestling is fine, but not WWE style, he's going to have to change his style to fit in.
Guest Mr Kennedy
Good shout with your response, and your probabley right, that big CM Punk fans are probabley expecting to much, as he is 'the kind of the indies' however when you say . His wrestling is fine' date=' but not WWE style, he's going to have to change his style to fit in.[/quote'] Have you seen any of Punks's matches in OVW? particulary his fued with Brent Albright? I beleive he has adjusted his style very well indeed to fit the 'WWE Style'.
Dead Crow 370
Punk will go to SD and be jobbed out to Gregory Helms. He should go nowhere NEAR Edge, who is main event talent, whereas Punk is an indy bitch.

Actually no I haven't mate, but I read all that "He can't work" stuff though, but if like you say he has been able to adapt his style, then it might put him in good favour with the WWE's top brass. Guest Mr Kennedy
Just had a little look on the PW Torch site, This guy asked Wade Keller about Punk's situation. As it's something most people are interested here is the Question and answer. Ask the Torch -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- By Wade Keller, Torch editor Feb 20, 2006, 12:26 Email this article Printer friendly page -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A. Roenquist of Norway: Can you help me clarify on the situation regarding C.M. Punk? Everybody (especially indy fans) knows what a great asset this man is, yet WWE hasn't brought him on television yet, which kind of bothers me every time I see the Spirit Squad show up on Raw. And what is up with all that heat on Punk backstage. Some Internet wrestling sites bring up once in a while that Triple H, HBK and others are unhappy with his workrate. Can you please elaborate on this? WK: Punk was a great fit in Ring of Honor and deserved his hard-earned rep as one of the top wrestlers of 2004 and 2005. There is a downside to all of that acclaim. WWE tends to like to chop people down who are considered "Internet darlings." I do know from talking to people in Ohio Valley Wrestling that his WWE experience has been eye-opening in that he's learned a lot about how working WWE-style is different from ROH, and for good reason based on the different audience, context, history, surrounding, fan expectations, and schedule. Punk is also someone with a strong personality and he can rub people the wrong way, but this may be a case of people in WWE looking for a reason to chop him down to size. His participating on the ROH show last week with TNA contracted wrestlers got him heat behind the scenes, although it was a mix-up since Tommy Dreamer actually Punk permission to do the show. There have been comments from people in positions of power in WWE that Punk's tattoos are offensive or distracting. He is seen as thinner than a typical WWE heavyweight, but he's probably too tall to be a cruiserweight. He's like an NBA player who has shooting guard skills but point guard size, and he may ultimately not be a great fit for WWE. I think he would have been much better off signing with TNA, and I know he agonized over the decision to choose WWE over TNA. However, he can talk, and once he pays his dues, no matter how overblown or unnecessarily excessive, his skillset may win out and he could end up in a strong position in a year or two. But fans of his must be patience and let the system, for better or for worse, play itself out. I had predicted Punk would get along great with Triple H because both are such students of the game with similar senses of humor, but I don't know that they've had a chance to even become acquainted. There are countless wrestlers who are, IMO, worse than Punk, and more deserving of your "Indy Bitch" tag.......Jay Lethal for one.
