I want Dott to win. Last time i watched a final i believe it was very close to midnight before it finished. That was between Ebdon and Hendry. Mr Boring won.

This must be really taxing mentally on the players. There was a frame there that was 75 minutes long. How demoralising would it be to lose that frame?

Its not like wrestling, where people are picked. He deserved to get there and deserved to win, because he played better than everyone else.

It was a really crap final in my opinion but I dont think you can say Dott (who has gotten to the final 5times) is the worst champion ever.....not that I would know who is the worst ever??

Ebdon is a really slow player, he bores me, so I didn't watch the final-I just flicked over now and then...

I personally would've liked to have seen more exciting players in the final, but credit to Ebdon and Dott. They both worked had.

I think the people who just love seeing century breaks are bores.

 

I thought it was engrossing towards the end. It was so tense and although the quality wasn't particularly high in terms of big breaks, it was a great match.

 

Dott's a great player too, he destroyed Ronnie O'Sullivan and you can say Ronnie wasn't on his game at the start of that match but the same could be said about Dott near the end when Ronnie started coming back. Anyone who knows their snooker instead of just watching the odd match at the World Championships will know what sort of player Dott is.

 

He isn't the most naturally gifted player ever but he's got a great determination about him, is mentally very strong and is relentless.

Ebdon Vs Dott was a complete snorefest. :sleep

They both make Steve Davis look like the epitome of excitement. Even their names sound boring.

Dott couldn't finish a bag of crisps in one go. The amount of times he had great opportunities to finish off frames and failed was embarrassing. If he's the best that the sport has to offer, they may as well give up now.

 

Both the 1996 Stephen Hendry and the 2004 Ronnie O'Sullivan would have beaten Dott about 18-3 in that final.

Boring end to a boring World Championships. Ronnie needs to get his act together next year, Ebdon is the worst player to watch, I think he does it on purpose as a tactic to put the opponent off.
