With Rooney now seemingly out i hope he goes with 4-5-1 with Gerrard in the Attaking midfield role and Carrick coming in as an out and out holding midfielder. We would still carryough of a threat with Owen, Gerrardand Lampard bombing on from midfield and with Joe Cole in inspid form it isn't all doom and gloom. I don't want him to start with Crouch up top id much rather Owen and Defoe or Owen and Bent but as i said Gerrard just off Owen is my prefference.

I wouldn't take Rooney, he is out for 6 weeks people are saying well he could play in the knockout matches but he will be no where near macth fit for them so there is no point in it, its a big loss but we must cope

Nolan needs to move to a bigger club and continue to perform well to stand a chance of getting in the squad for next season and the euro qulifiers. i also can't believe some people are making a case for anton and dawson to be included in the squad !

I'd have Parker in the squad instead, but he's injured and I don't know if he'd be fit in time for the World Cup. Nolan's played consistently well all season and who are the alternatives? Jenas? Hargreaves? I'd take Nolan over the pair of them in a heartbeat.

Agreed.

 

Nolan deserves a call up, his leadership has been consisten with Bolton al season.

 

Both Hargreaves and Jenas aren't up to the grade.
