Guest Craig
SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long has announced the main event for Judgment Day, which will take place Sunday, May 21, at the U.S. Airways Center in Phoenix, Ariz. The self-proclaimed American Hero, and United States Champion, JBL will challenge the biggest underdog World Heavyweight Champion in the history of sports-entertainment – Rey Mysterio. JBL issued the challenge last week on SmackDown during his United States Championship celebration. “I took a Championship off your two buddies, Chris (Benoit) and Eddie (Guerrero). You’re the third, amigo,” said the cocky JBL. “That thing is bigger than you,” he said about the World Heavyweight Championship on Rey’s shoulder. “That thing will look really good on my right shoulder with (the U.S. Championship) on my left.” Mysterio has admitted that his Championship reign can end at any time. The 5 foot 6, 165 pound champion may be small in stature, but his enormous heart cannot be overlooked. Although Rey’s miracle reign as champion can come to an abrupt halt at any time, one thing is for sure – the master of the 619 will give it everything he’s got. Will it be enough, though, when he faces JBL at Judgment Day? Source: WWE.com
Ryan 188
The bit below contains spoilers from last nights SD!... I really hope JBL loses the US Title before Judgement Day, its obvious who is going to win at Judgement Day and to have JBL be a double champion wouldnt be good, as awesome as he is 1 title is good enough, whatever happened to the Kane thing anyway? Guest CoTT
This is exactly the type of match that could destroy Mysterio's title run. JBL is a a big sloppy brawler who won't be able to make Rey's offense look good and I doubt the match will be anything special. At least we'll get some quality promos off JBL during it though. I for one would be delighted if JBL took the title out of nowhere but I don't think that's very likely to happen at all. WWE seem content with ultra-long babyface title runs these days. Guest CoTT
What?! This doesn't confirm anything. RVD is on an entirely different show than JBL and obviously an RVD/Cena or an RVD/HHH would be a much bigger match for ONS.
Guest The Great Ahmar
Well I think that all but confirms who RVD will face JBL at One Night Stand II Exactly what i was going to say. I think he will drop the belt to someone like LAshley or maybe even Burchill.
Guest CoTT
Lashley? Burchill? Are you nuts? They haven't even been on SD! a year yet and they've never main evented for other big companies worldwide before so why the hell would WWE just throw their biggest titles on them? They're not fully over, they have never drawn and they're nowhere near title material in general yet.

Guest CoTT
Well if that's the case, they would make good US Title contenders.

Guest Dave7g
God I hate JBL, I won't be watching that match then.
Guest MrFill
Anyway, I can see JBL beating Rey at JD, then at Two Night Stand RVD will challenge for a "World" level belt. Like the Rumble, I think the owner of the MitB has a choice of which belt he goes for. Edited April 29, 2006 by MrFill
Guest Slim Jim
If they don't want Cena to go to One Night Stand, then the next best thing would be JBL. The ECW fans would have a lot of fun.
The Icon 152
ECW fans wouldn't let JBL get out alive after last year, they would Crucify JBL if he didn't job to RVD.
Dead Crow 370
ECW fans wouldn't let JBL get out alive after last year' date=' they would Crucify JBL if he didn't job to RVD.[/quote'] I think that's why JBL is a shoe-in for this spot. There's a clear continuity factor with having JBL there, and RVD going over Cena/Edge/HHH would hurt that program a lot IMO. SmackDown needs a more solid main event in the absense of Tista, Angle and Orton, and RVD is the guy to do it, especially if ECW takes over Velocity, rather than Heat. And RVD can cut a promo saying that he's gonna challenge someone that has disrespected everything he believes in and that person would be JBL. IMO the match won't be great but the crowd reaction will make up for that.
Guest Sav
Poor Rey. Will be a fun match though, Rey brings out the best in JBL.
Guest Jung
According to Da Meltz, the plan is still for RVD to face the winner at Backlash. Thus who knows what's going on?
Guest Chriscare
Nah, it'll definatly be RVD vs JBL at One Night Stand. RVD just doesnt fit into the title scene on Raw, with Edge, Cena and Trips, which doesnt seem like its gonna end before One night stand. Plus witht he loss of Batista, Angle, Orton and now likely Rey, they're gonna need a new main eventer over there.
The Icon 152
First of all Batista is (almost) cleared to Wrestle and will be back in May. Second they can Bring Orton back any time they want hes suspended not injured.
Guest CoTT
JBL is to go over Rey Mysterio at Judgment Day to win the World Heavyweight Title as Mysterio requires knee surgery and will be taking some time off soon. I still think it's gonna be either RVD/Cena or RVD/HHH at ONS though.
Guest Dave7g
JBL as world champ is suicide, I honestly don't know anybodythat likes JBL more than Angle/Benoit or Mysterio, thats only in real life of course, but to me JBL is nothing more than one half of the APA, a tag team that Idid like a lot, but as a singles guy/bully, he's awful. ANyone thinking it could have been a three way with angle if he hadsnt got hurt or was it always meant to be JBL and rey rey
Guest MrFill
Think about the storyline to it. JBL was the most vocal anti-ECW person at ONS - he even had his own commentary on the DVD. If JBL wins the strap at JD, then he's the natural choice of opponent.

I think it could develop the WWE V ECW thing better with a major title invouled.
