Wrestling Machine dismantled

April 29, 2006

Kurt Angle has suffered a cracked rib. As a result of the injury, the Wrestling Machine will now be out of action for an undetermined amount of time.

The injury originally occurred on the recent European tour when Mark Henry delivered the World's Strongest Slam to Angle during a match in New Castle. "At that point, I wasn't even sure if I was going to be able to compete against Mysterio for the World Heavyweight Championship," Angle later admitted to WWE.com. But being the intense competitor that he is, Angle kept his injury to himself and fought valiantly for the title he feels he rightfully deserves.

Unfortunately for Angle, the final straw came when Henry, perhaps realizing he injured Angle earlier in New Castle, dismantled the Wrestling Machine on SmackDown with a near 400-pound splash through a ringside table.

Just as he did to former World Heavyweight Champion Batista, Henry injured Angle to the point where he will now be out of action indefinitely, meaning he must forfeit his spot in the King of the Ring tournament. As a result, Booker T advances to the final round.

So the "X" after the Henry move onto the table is a cover to give him some time off.

Samckdown is definity weak now, No Angle, Orton or Batista and Taker doesn't show up much. Its only Rey and dare i say it Henry. Its a shame, but did he really crack a rib i heard its was his neck and back.

Booker T in the finals, things are'n't working for smackdown is it! I mean I think they planned Angle to win the whole thing. Its time for someone to take the ball and run with over on Smackdown

Not to mention Kennedy..... and the recent loss of Eddie and Christian...the show has never been weaker.

Just as well Benoit and Lashley are fans favourites.

....Kennedy

To be honest i am not supprised that Kurt is injuried. I mean if you look at the Lashely Henry match henry messed up going over the top rope, so i guess it's no supprise that he was sloppy with the table spot.

However i guess this is actually a blessing in a way cause of Kurts health problems at the moment, even though that comment may sound very nasty

I said there wasn't much chance of Smackdown getting worse after their dire taping this past week

Seems i'm mistaken

It's a big pity, although I hate to say it i'm glad Angle is out of action now, we know about his injuries and it would be for the best for him to get some rest rather than aggravating the injury further. A big loss for Smackdown but I suppose Batista should make up for some of that when he returns to action soon.

Yes, yesterdays taping was pretty poor. Well it does show, last week SmackDown scored a 2.0 million rating (source PWInsider.com) which is very poor for WWE at the moment. SD is suffering though with the loss of a handful of talent at the moment. I'm guessing Kennedy comes back soon though, or if not he'll come back around the time Orton comes back which should improve things a whole lot more.

It was definitely time for Angle to have some time out to treat his injured neck.

Kennedy is set for a May comeback apparently according to Powerslam and other online sites I saw a while bac so not long now.

As for Angle's neck, he can take as much time off as he wants and 'treat' that neck but it isn't going to get any better, I think he has left it so long that it is perminantly damaged, but then I am no doc and haven't seen any scans or anything so thats just my uninformed oppinion :)

I'm not sure if this is a spoiler or not, so I'll mark it as one.

According to rumors I've read, Rey is taking time off to have knee surgery, rendering him out of action for a good couple of months.

It seems when it rains, it pours.
