Guest SuperKick Kid
IMO Triple H's character has been devalued by him using the sledgehammer, nowadays it seems like he cant win a PPV match without using the sledgehammer. I think Triple H should lose the sledgehammer. Maybe he could use it a couple times a year, but not too often. It's almost to the point where he could put a face on the hammer and start carrying it around and calling it Sledgy. Then he'll divorce Steph and marry Sledgy. He used the Sledgehammer against Ric Flair, against Big Show, against John Cena, and he'll probably use it again this Sunday. It's gotten too predictable. Triple H needs to lose the sledgehammer. Guest porridge
You're right. I was thinking the exact same thing when he used it recently (I forget when). If you think back to when it was first used, it was seen as a "special" weapon, something he really only pulled out when desperate times called for desperate measures (Like Foley's barbed wire bat - hence the pop when he took it out of the box in the promo with Edge before Mania). It was the weapon. Now it's getting to feel like he can't win without it, he has no choice but to use it. This is devaluing him and the weapon. Guest MrFill
But it's Mr Sledgy! Check the Predictions. :D Seriously though, he's used it for YEARS, but it does seem like he's using it every match that he wins now. Maybe that's why he didn't beat Cena at Mania - he didn't have Mr Sledgy with him.

And I'm saying he uses it in like every PPV match.
Guest MrFill
Damn, I forgot about that - see, Mr Sledgy is losing his power.
Guest SuperKick Kid
Mr. Sledgy needs to be used less IMO. That way it will get a bigger pop when Triple H pulls out Sledgy. Because like I said, Sledgy has become predictable. If Sledgy is used like once or twice a year, then Sledgy will gain his power back. Guest Breakdown
I can see where people are coming from about it devaluing Triple H and The Sledgehammer - but i dont really look at it that way. I think it suits his gimmick perfectly, as it puts across the fact that he will do anything to get the win. I dont see it as being any different from The Dudleys getting the tables, or Foley pulling out a bag of thumbtacks. Its a signature of these guys, so why remove something they've become synonyms with?

I dont see it as being any different from The Dudleys getting the tables' date=' or [b']Foley pulling out a bag of thumbtacks[/b]. Foley only started on the thumbtacks recently - it's Abyss' signature. The barbed wire 2x4 or baseball bat is Foley's signature, and he pulls that out virtually every match now. With HHH its all the time.
Guest MrFill
True, but it does seem to come out every feud.
Paul 584
The problem with Mr Sledgy is that HHH just cant swing it well enough to look like he has hurt someone. :P
Guest MrFill
Or his hand is over the end, so he might as well just punch them in the gut.
Guest Kanenite
Good point, makes me laugh when you can clearly see his hand covering it which makes it a wtf move. Now that he is slated to turn face it might help his character if he didn't use it as much as it isn't really a face thing to whack out sledgy in a normal match. But it would seem strange not having him use it. I can see where people are coming from about it looking like he needs it to win though aswell and it isn't really helping him that much. Remember 2003 when nearly every World Heavyweight Title defence he would use sledgy or get DQ'd etc etc, in my oppinion that was poor and did nothing at all to develop the career of Trips apart from getting him official heel status. wyndorf 389
Maybe Kurt Angle should stop using the Ankle Lock, I mean he wins nearly all of his matches with it....
Guest Jimmy Redman
The Ankle Lock is a finishing move, and a legal move at that. Mr Sledgy is a signature foreign object shot. Dont try and compare them.
Ryan 188
Eddie did the same with his chair shot & playing possam, i didnt hear anyone complaining then, IHHHN (Internet HHH Negativity) is beyond boring now.
Murph 93
But the sledgehammer kicks ass... That settles the argument.

Mr Sledgy is just bordering on overkill atm.
Ryan 188
but its his signiture move, like Kurt Angle has the Ankle Lock & The Angle Slam, Chris Benoit Has The Crossface & The Swandive, HHH has The Pedigree & The Sledghammer Shot. Murph 93
Well why bloody not? Why not let him use it? It gets the crowd going, and it has became a regular thing for him, so there is no use in stopping it.
Ryan 188
What about William Regal's Brass Knuckles. Well why bloody not? Why not let him use it? It gets the crowd going' date=' and it has became a regular thing for him, so there is no use in stopping it.[/quote'] Its the internet OFW, people will try and find a way of raggin' on HHH, no matter what it is. Guest Jimmy Redman
I dont care about Regal's Brass Knucks, I wasnt around when he used them with any regularity. I'm not sure that regularity is a word. Anyway, the point is, he used to only bring it out on occaisions, but lately its at every opportunity, and its getting overkilled. Ryan 188
Because it gets the crowd poppin', its not as if the crowd goes dead at the site of Mr. Sledgy, it's a popular move, why cant people see that.
