Guest Dave7g
Giddy up :) In a somewhat surprising bit of news, the Ken Shamrock vs. Tito Ortiz match is back on for 7/8 at the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas. After being examined about his bad leg, Ortiz was told he had a fractured fibula, and not a serious ACL tear. He will be down for six weeks, and attempted to get the match postponed to August. After talking with Dana White tonight, he decided to keep the original date, coming two weeks after this season's Ultimate Fighter TV show ends. Credit: Mr.Meltzer. This is great news, I was almost devastated when the fight was scrapped.
Guest Brad
Well this is definately better then Shamrock vs. Griffin. I actually cringed when I heard that fight, but I think it was because I was looking forward too much to Ortiz vs. Shamrock. I think Tito is riding his luck a bit though, pulling out of the fight and then just asking for the fight back, I know he has injuries but he must of changed his mind for a reason as those injuries won't be healed by July, so it's quite mysterious to find out what those reasons were for suddenly wanting the fight again. Guest Spoonman
I hope that Shamrock can pull off the win and teach Ortiz some humility. But bearing in mind that Shamrock is well past his prime as a fighter and the fact that the last fight ended up in Ken taking one hell of a beating from Ortiz. I can't realistically see any other outcome than a Ortiz win. Also, remember that Shamrock is a hot-head. Will his game-plan go out of the window in the fog of a Tito Ortiz-induced rage? I think Shamrock needs to win this fight more than Ortiz. He is surely nearing the end of his career and a second loss to his mortal-enemy would surely just about finish him off. But that doesn't mean to say that the arrogant Ortiz's ego (although perhaps not as arrogant as i'd anticipated based on TUF3) would take losing to the "old man" very well. I'm looking forward to this fight more than any for a while. Not so much from a technical standpoint. But from a pure story perspective. It should be great. Paul 584
In the last fight Shamrock was recovering from surgery so that result isnt a total best of both men. This time Ortiz will be at the disadvantage...maybe it will need a third.
Guest Spoonman
This time Ortiz will be at the disadvantage...maybe it will need a third. If Ortiz can get under Shamrock's skin like he has at times on TUF3 though, Ken is in trouble.
Paul 584
In the Octagon ken seems to ahve damned good control...and after seeing Couture spanking Ortiz must be able to help him chill. :lol

He looked like a spent-force. I also but read about him getting K.Oed in the first round of a PRIDE fight against Kazushi Sakuraba last October. I didn't see it, but there is no doubt that Ken has struggled in recent fights. Saying that - Tito Ortiz got taken to the limit by the gutsy but technically lacking TUF1 winner Forrest Griffin at UFC 59 and didn't look particularly impressive. I hope Ken can pull this one off. If only to see what Ortiz has to say for himself afterwards. :lol
