Guest The Beltster
No offence, but it seems every time an American opens their mouth these days, some form of pure bullshit, stupidity or ignorance comes out. I'm sure not all Americans are as retarded as the probable minority make them out to be, but Jesus Christ, I really hope that most of you guys over there realise that there are things outside the boundaries of the USA that matter. I just read this on PWTorch: Adam J. Grammas of Westchester, Ill.: I could tell the guy who got squashed in that match was English because he looked like Davey Boy Smith. I guess all Englanders look alike. :roll Yes, all "Englanders" look alike. ****. Englanders isnt even a word you God damned moron, its ENGLISH! Michael Cole called us "Englandanites" on SD! a little while ago aswell, and with the general mentality (in my experisnce) with Americans being that they are pro-USA and anti-everywhere else to the point where they seem to think the rest of the world is a worthless third world place that doesnt matter, I have to say I'm sick to death of it. Guest Twig
Oh, wow... Ok. I'm from Illinois, but I'm from the big city of Chicago. Westchester is a hick town, full of rednecks and the like. What I can tell you, however, is that about 70-80% of the American's I've encountered are as ignorant (and adamant in their misguided, misinformed ways) as this moron. Guest SuperKick Kid
Yeah, Twiggie Illinois represent. There are a bunch of ignorant people in America. Ignorant people are my #1 pet peeve.
Guest MrFill
Having lived there for over 2 years, I can only say one thing - YES! A LOT of Americans don't know or care about what goes on outisde their borders - most of them couldn't tell you where Iraq, Afghanistan or Korea were on a map, not even the general area. Add to the fact that quite a few think that Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Eire are IN England. Not to mention that the Americans tend to only think that there are 3 English accents: Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins, Daphne in Frasier and Ed from Extreme Makeover Home Edition. SERIOUSLY! Do all Americans think everywhere is enar London? That's a bit like me speaking to someone from Charlottesville and saying "Is that near Florida?" Guest MrFill
Barry (B-Man) is from Northern Ireland, yet as soon as they hear his accent, he's Irish - his common response has been "yeah, just like you're Canadian".

Guest FreeSpirit
I was in Notting Hill (West London) one time, and overheard two American tourists who thought that was where Robin Hood was from. WTF? :?

Guest Kanenite
I think it's really sad. We learn about their country in history and that's all we've done for 8 months so far so do they actually learn anything about our country? I think America is a brilliant country and there are some brilliant people over there, but there are some right jackasses aswell, also I hate their patriotism but meh. Can someone tell me if you have learnt anything about us in America at school?

Well we learned about the wars and the Allied Powers and all but thats about it. But I dont take world history so I dont. Every country has problems with each other and this thread really shows that. Every person in their own country thinks their better than others. Its just the way the world works. And dont let that guy's one comment get you so pissed off. It's a stupid comment and people in U.K. do the same thing. Edited April 27, 2006 by yoyo

You learnt about Bulldog & Luger, I bet you school rocked!! :P To be fair though when I went to school geography was pretty rubbish, we learnt nothing about where places are, just mainly about continents & their rainfall & trade & all that stuff. Guest The Beltster
Every country has problems with each other and this thread really shows that. Every person in their own country thinks their better than others. Its just the way the world works. Its nothing to do with countries having problems with each other, its to do with pure ignorance. My problem isnt that Americans think America is better, they should think that, that is their right. My point is, Americans are so wrapped up in their own little world that they seem to think that the rest of the world is nothing more than a third world dusty unadvanced shithole and its extremely annoying. Little things like not knowing England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland etc are NOT all one country, I mean what is so hard to grasp here? Another thing is using the term "Brits", I find that very insulting, its like us calling you Yanks. I'm not a "Brit", I'm English. And dont let that guy's one comment get you so pissed off. It's a stupid comment and people in U.K. do the same thing. But its not just one guy, it happens all the time. And I'm not saying that there are dumbasses in the UK, trust me, I live here, I KNOW there are. But Americans have a way of throwing their ignorance in other peoples faces, and their arrogance of thinking that not only are they better than everybody else, but everybody else is a joke. Its aggrivating at best. The way Americans all think that everybody in England specifically eat crumpets, drinks tea and adore the Queen and that is the sole purpose of our life, I am waiting for somebody in the States to ask me if we have running water and the use of motorcars yet :lol Here is a typical American tourist thing to say, from my own personal experience: I was visiting an castle back when I was in school, it was for a history project, I dont remember which one but of course, it was a national monument and so on. There were several American tourists who got lost in there and were saying as loud as they could "Why dont they knock down this wall and build an exit!"...Yes...knock down the wall of a castle that is over 1000 years old, so you can get out quicker. ****ers. Its things like that, not to mention that when Americans are on TV or outside their own country, they become loud-mouth, obnoxious *******s, all adds to it. Have you ever seen footage of the war in Iraq, the UK soldiers seem so much more professional than the typical loud-mouth obnoxious American soldiers who, when they blow something up, cant help "Woooooooo"ing and screaming and high fiving like a bunch of 7 yr old idiots. I'm not saying its everybody in the US, that would be ignorant on my behalf, but your own people dont make you look good when they act like that. Guest Drake
Well what can I say. Not all Americans are ignorant morons like that guy. They just have certain morons like every other country does. Sometimes their ignorance can be quite disturbing. (For example if you work in a mall.)I find it funny because we (Puertoricans) have to speak in English to them when they talk to us. But when you go to the US, you have to speak in English to them. I mean, would it kill you to learn one more f'n language? And like I said, those aren't all americans. Cause I also know ones who try and speak Spanish, even if it isn't that great but just to learn about the culture and everything.
