Guest Dickie Hyde
Well come September i'm off to college to study A-Levels. I finished year 11 with 9 GCSE's, tried 6th form for a few months and quit in January... it sucked, and I wanted to get out of the building I had been in for over 5 years. And meeting new people and new surroundings sounds like a pretty cool idea. I have an interview on 5th June for South East Essex College, and I'm pretty much hoping i'm in. My long-term goal: A WWE Camera Technician. --- You know, the guys you see standing at ringside, holding what we see through on TV. Short term goals: - Get through college, get through uni, gain a couple of years experience and then go for the dream! Anyhow, I'm banking on doing 3 courses... I have chosen Photography and Media Studies. One other.. (or 2 if it would be necessary) what should it be? I dont really have a nach for Business Studies. Cheers for your thoughts!, Dickie
Guest TOO COOL
I thought the title said, Help with college p*icks lol For you being a wwe camera man, I would have thought the wwe just get local men to do the job, but i could be wrong. As for another course, you can’t go wrong with IT.
Guest Kanenite
Yeh i'd definately say IT from the top of my head. I can't really think of any others that would help as much as your already chosen courses. I can't really offer much advice being younger than you but I would say stick with 3 courses if that's what you want as your ambition, you could always pick another to fall back on though. Guest Nicole
Good choice on dropping out of sixth form, due to it sucking. Depends, if you want to be creative, take english language or literature, as your ideas are always accepted and its a really good subject for letting your imagination go wild. Or maybe drama, because you have to learn about effective camera techniques.

Hmm, I.C.T is an option, but I only just scraped a double C in GCSE last year. I hated the work, and all of the database crap. And I'm sure that wouldn't come into the camera-work side of things? Guest Andrew_D
English Literature is rubbish. I took it for A Level and all we did was Poems. I can't stand poems. An Ode to a Nightingale is absolute tosh. It's good to do different courses because who knows what you want to do after uni. Things change. Guest Dickie Hyde
I was thinking History, as I am strong in that area, getting a B in my GCSE, and I enjoyed studying it. I got two B's for English language and Lit, but they are not exactly the most interesting of subjects. But then history will have no bearing on what I wish to pursue? Also, do they have stuff like "Camera Technician Studies" or something along the lines of it in Uni...?
Guest MartynJ
Basicaly if you have good gcse's at school you should beable to go on what ever course you want in moderation to your results etc.. Ive completed my media studies course about 6years ago and it took me 2 years to complete as it covers every aspect of media from newspapers to radio, vidieo making and even westerns history for some reason?, and even though ive never used the qualifcation it might come in handy one day, plus it involves a certain experience in photography too, so if your serious about it, then i'd go for it ,but keep your options open :xyx
Guest Wolverine
Psychology's a lot of fun and really interesting - you could consider doing that. It won't have much to do with being a cameraman, but I think that the two subjects that you've already chosen cover that enough ... you should just pick something you're interested in for the third one. And as a side-note, what topics did you do in History for GCSE? I'm just wondering if the English do the same course as Northern Ireland. Guest A.C.
If you have money concerns I was reading up on Uni and stuff yesterday and a lot of people are choosing to do a two-year HND at a local college and then a top-up year at university to get their degree. Guest Nicole
I'm not going to Uni due to my lack of finance, but I'll just do an Open Uni degree later in life. Its exactly the same as normal Uni, and it means that one day I can be a doctor of English. Yay :)
