Guest Bluestiger99
I was discussing with TGO, and we were drawing some similarites between Shelton Benjamin and the Rock. Same attitude Rocky had, same shirt, same look. I think with some work on his mic skills, he could be the next Rock. Thoughts? wyndorf 389
Shelton has a lack of natural charisma, which is the one tool The Rock used to become one of the biggest stars ever. Unrealistic facial expressions is something else that doesn't bode well for Benjamin, that *shocked* look he has, is guff.
Guest MrFill
Look at some of Rocky's earlier promos, he had a distinct lack of charisma too. It just took a little coaching to bring it out - maybe Shelty needs the same.
Guest The Genetic Jackhammer
Ummmmmmmmmmm well in one word No.Its obvious to see that Shelton is a better wrestler, he doesnt have an ounce of charisma as of yet, but he`ll never be at The Rocks level of popularity, if he got half as good as The Rock that would be good. Guest Matt
If Shelton works on his mic skills, which have by the way improved a lot since he turned heel, then i think he'll have the potential to go further than the rock. He's miles ahead of Rock in the ring. Edited April 25, 2006 by Matt
Guest rawiswar
Well at the moment Shelton has no real charisma, just watching him in recent weeks and when he came down to the announce table you could just see he's bad at acting and not really confident in this department. Good in-ring though of course. Could improve in the charisma department though so we'll see.
Guest craignwo4life
His "look" is definately taken from the Rock but until he gets a catchphrase or something to make him seem extra special he will just remain a talented mid-carder (unfortunately). Guest Dickie Hyde
The Rock? Hmmm. A lot of work to be done. At-least he has in-ring skills on his side, unlike John Cena. I enjoy watching Benjamin WRESTLE... nothing else. And with Cena i'm the opposite.
Guest MojoPogo
In terms of in ring talent though, he's one of the best around. If they could just find a way to market that.....maybe make him super intense or something.
Guest The Great Ahmar
He has great potenital, I like him as a face, I think if he had great charisma he would be so over with the fans and a World time. Look at Kurt Angle he can wrestle like Shelton be could be considered a better techinal wrestler in a different discussion and He has great charisma he gets the biggest pops and has good matches apart from with Mark Henry! As everyone else agrees all he needs is a catchphase and some bloddy charisma.
Guest Dickie Hyde
Lol, Kurt can wrestle like Shelton? If you were going to make that comparison it would be Shelton can wrestle like Kurt... but I dont think he can. Kurt is awesome.
Guest MrFill
They're 2 different types of wrestlers - Shelton hits more high risk moves, but can still mat wrestle - Angle is mostly mat work and occasionally goes up top (but not so often now). Guest CoTT
He's miles ahead of Rock in the ring. Is he? I don't think so. Not so long ago Shelton's claim to fame was taking nasty hoppers off the edge of the ring when attempting his usual spot monkey routine. The Rock was never that sloppy which for me, makes him a better worker.

Guest the HiTman
Shelton always looks smooth as butter though. Not sloppy in any way. But who was smoother than The Rock? :P Two completely different styles. I prefer watching someone like Rock in the WWE but cannot fault Shelton in the ring at all. He just bores me out of the ring. Guest MrFill
Not forgetting that Shelty is a good mat wrestler, he's just upped his game and put the high flying spots in place.
